The Republican party has a strange way of showing that they don't want him back.  They continue to enable him and kiss his as every step of the way.  Nobody will dare speak out against him.

In some ways its similar to Hillary running in 2016.  I think the majority of democrats didn't want her on the ticket but the party either did or felt  she was the only chance.

The republican party needs to work with Trump to bring his voters in but they need a better candidate. As I've said before, if Trump would back a well spoken and sane candidate that stood for most of his policies it would be hard to beat them in the next election.

No real challengers ran b/c she created a sense of inevitability and challenging her would have just resulted in you being a failed spoiler that harmed the party's candidate.  I think you'll see the same thing happen in 2024 in the GOP if Trump runs.

But, I think you underestimate how much Democrats like Hillary.  She was very much qualified and competent enough to be president and I think she probably would have done pretty good.  Easily better than Trump but that's a low low bar given his historically bad record on jobs and deaths.

I remember in 2016 right wing media was saying Obama was going to declare Marshal Law and cancel the election. There was an email even to prove it. As we know four years later, Donald Trump tries kicking around that very same idea.

It can't be said enough: every nefarious thing right-wing leaders accuse the Democrats of planning to do, they themselves attempt to do. Their projection is so 101, no sentient adult can miss it.

Now, what was it Michael Flynn is accusing the Democrats of planning to do, again?

The difference is that about a third of the country absolutely worships Trump and believes everything he says.  Clinton didn't have that kind of following.

If you think there is a chance Trump is going to support a well spoken and sane candidate for the good of the country, you haven't been paying attention for the last 40 years.  For the one thousandth time, Trump only cares about himself.  What else does he have to do to convince you of that?

Yeah, its pretty much a dream but I think if the Republicans want to win they need to figure it out.

Hillary had a pretty loyal following with some folks, same wth Bernie. I think Trump has a group of followers but it might not be as big as you think.  A lot of us like things he did and stood for but didn't like him.

"always a reasonable guy" is a stretch but during the Trump era he's definitely been on the more reasonable side of the spectrum.   I think I remember pre-Trump that you used to post a lot of content from him but I remember him calling us liberal fascists and stuff.

yeah I think he wrote a book with that title 🙂

I think both sides are given to hyperbole but Trump took it all a step further.  It's like busting balls vs actually wanting to fight and kill.  Think of Billy Batts and and Tommy in Goodfellas.

I get you might like some things that happened during his presidency, but he doesn't actually stand for anything except getting attention and making money.

right.  All he cared about was winning. If the political landscape were different he could just as easily have been a Bernie Bros.

His endpoint is making money and gaining fame and growing his brand.  He picked the best path to get there given that we had 8 years of a D running things, who was black, and garnered a lot of hate over that.  Trump saw the opening with the help of Steve Bannon.

You could turn this around the other way as well.

Like say I don't know respect the rule of law narrative the Dems pushed after the Jan 6th protest but none of that applies to burned down buildings BLM protest. Those are fiery but peaceful protest!

The conservative leaning media needs to stop pushing Trump and focus on the other possible candididates.  Just beforeecause there is a group that wants Trump back there are more that want someone else. The RNC should also be pushing this because they need a unified group in the next election and get back the ones that left because of Trump.

They are, they have been pushing Desantis

Dems argued that the law doesn't apply to burned down buildings BLM protest?

I may have seen it here, but the smartest thing I’ve seen about Trump and his followers was this: There are two types of Trump voters, those that Trump uses and those that use Trump.

The whole "Let's Go Brandon" thing is hilarious to me. They really think it's clever for some reason. You want to say "Fuck Biden", then go ahead and say it. Who cares?

MotownForums doesn't care! 😂

I think the GOP platform committee in the 2024 National Convention is going to write into the official platform that Biden should be sodomized.
