J.K. Rowling and Elon Musk Named in Cyberbullying Lawsuit Filed by Algerian Boxer Imane Khelif After Olympic Win

Good, I hope she cleans up in court there. Someone has to win in the fight to stop uninvited online bullying by those who are powerful and influential. Just because she doesn’t look like a Disney Princess doesn’t make her a man, and these people should be made to pay real money for abusing their power in such an especially crass manner.

Not that Klobuchar isn’t safe, but it’s still incredible that this is basically the GOP platform in 2024. They don’t even want to try and win these elections.

Perhaps they believe they won't have to try because supreme courts will overturn election results in their favor.

Donald Trump compared the Medal of Freedom that his big donor got with the Medal of Honor.

I would just like to say...

How to Write a Check Step-by-Step Instructions - Writing Dollars and ...

is not the same as this

Quote

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sgt. Levitow (then A1C), U.S. Air Force, distinguished himself by exceptional heroism while assigned as a loadmaster aboard an AC-47 aircraft flying a night mission in support of Long Binh Army post. Sgt. Levitow's aircraft was struck by a hostile mortar round. The resulting explosion ripped a hole 2 feet in diameter through the wing and fragments made over 3,500 holes in the fuselage. All occupants of the cargo compartment were wounded and helplessly slammed against the floor and fuselage. The explosion tore an activated flare from the grasp of a crewmember who had been launching flares to provide illumination for Army ground troops engaged in combat. Sgt. Levitow, though stunned by the concussion of the blast and suffering from over 40 fragment wounds in the back and legs, staggered to his feet and turned to assist the man nearest to him who had been knocked down and was bleeding heavily. As he was moving his wounded comrade forward and away from the opened cargo compartment door, he saw the smoking flare ahead of him in the aisle. Realizing the danger involved and completely disregarding his own wounds, Sgt. Levitow started toward the burning flare. The aircraft was partially out of control and the flare was rolling wildly from side to side. Sgt. Levitow struggled forward despite the loss of blood from his many wounds and the partial loss of feeling in his right leg. Unable to grasp the rolling flare with his hands, he threw himself bodily upon the burning flare. Hugging the deadly device to his body, he dragged himself back to the rear of the aircraft and hurled the flare through the open cargo door. At that instant the flare separated and ignited in the air, but clear of the aircraft. Sgt. Levitow, by his selfless and heroic actions, saved the aircraft and its entire crew from certain death and destruction. Sgt. Levitow's gallantry, his profound concern for his fellowmen, at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Air Force and reflect great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of his country.

was just going to post this same thing. some of Trump's awfulness is just garden variety stupidity, but this - to me - is one of those McCain moments, where his barren soul is on full display.

We've been asking "how can people tolerate this of a presidential candidate?" for years. I don't get it.

Another great example of how his narcissistic mind works.  He can’t follow the script and do as told because he believes that he’s so much smarter and charming.

Everything is fine with the speech if just stops at it’s the civilian equivalent of the Congressional Medal of Honor.  Instead, he says the quiet part out loud and tells us exactly what his demented brain really thinks.

BTW,  he can keep denying that he made those remarks at Normandy about suckers and losers but this proves that’s how he really feels.

that citation for John Levitow I posted above was the shining example for the enlisted Air Force cadre.  Thousands before him who went up in aircraft to bomb Hitler's war machine and put up with things as bad as that.  But, stroke a check...and guarantee women lose their rights.

It won’t matter a bit because it’s a cult, but the fact that Trump thinks mega donors > injured soldiers needs to be hammered home. He’s just openly saying this.

I think it does matter because the cult has already maxed out. Practically nobody is rushing toward it; if anything, the cult is probably losing ten people for every one it gains. Where it matters is that Trump needs non-cult members to vote for him so he can win (assuming a free and fair election), and with every utterance from his mouth, he is losing any chance of getting those people aboard. Because if you vote for Trump, you’re going to have to defend your support for his ideas, even if you believe they are not your ideas.

GOP pollster Frank Luntz's line on CNBC today talking about Trump ticking off the UAW. "There are billionaires watching this show who are spending a lot of money on Donald Trump and they don't understand why he's committing political suicide."

The hilarious thing is that even as Luntz is criticizing Trump for messing up his approach to the working class, his premise starts with Trump being the candidate of the super rich and he doesn't even sense the absurd contradiction that creates in his argument.

Not even worth mentioning that Miriam is a dual US-Israeli citizen for whom US citizenship has never been much more than a means for her to support lobbying and influencing for her primary allegiance - which is Israel. She should be registered as such but Sheldon's money bought her out of it.
