I honest to God don’t understand what’s that thread with Nancy Mace is supposedly all about. I don’t understand what she’s saying and I don’t understand what’s said  back to her.
Maybe I’m just tired.🥱😴

I don't, and I desperately don't want to.

I think I’m gonna just watch a couple episodes of Sneaky Pete on prime. I’m addicted to that show but I’m just about out of episodes.
If I am indeed, too tired to follow the storyline, there’s always tomorrow. Lol.

The hypothesis is that Nancy Mace fabricated a physical attack on herself by a phantom trans male advocate from the state most objectionable to red hats, then outed herself by replying to someone else in thread by referring to herself in the third person, forgetting to switch to her burner X account before doing so.

I swear they’re going to outlaw vaccines entirely. Probably make them all Schedule I narcotics.

Back when I worked and lived in Ann Arbor, I used to tease the liberal members of my team that if only vaccines were illegal, they would probably fight to get them.  Back then they weren't 'natural' and mother earth could protect their kids.  They talk of things like 'science' now and make fun of those that don't get every booster as soon as your next window opens up.

The wrong left/right labels.  Sure some hippies are stupid about vaccines but RFKjr. is of that special class of eccentric entitled idiots who span the political spectrum and he has achieved power possibly.

I don't know what they are, but those aren't liberals you're talking about. I know this because I am a liberal, and rejecting science and vaccines and embracing holistic alternative medicine horsehit was never a core liberal value. Only right wingers who hate liberals think liberals are typically that.

I can prove that to you: Trump's embrace of RFK Jr proves he's no liberal.

I don't know how you classify the 'earth mother' type. There is certain apparent cultural continuity to the 60's flower children but at this point it's different people and I think the motivation comes from a different place. Back in the day there was a set of beliefs that the earth/environment somehow had an inherent nurturing nature, so letting nature take it's course was always best. Of course that is a view that can only be expressed by children of privilege who were sheltered from ever actually experiencing nature's tooth, claw, and utter disinterest in the maintenance of human existence.

Today's antivax types are more of a conspiratorial bent. The drug companies are making profits by not caring that they're giving our babies autism by mercury poisoning.

So it's not even part of the same philosophy as the old hippy trope.

Of all the stupid MAGA things, what's most likely to destroy our country quickest is not end of democracy, bigotry and the other bad stuff we worry about.   It is anti-science/ anti-education/ lack of interest in the truth.  I don't think we can last very long as a strong country if we continue down that road.

This just can not be stressed enough. A democracy depends on the public making decisions to the public good. If they either don't understand, mis-understand, or are allowed to be lied to without challenge about what is actually the public good, game over - everything collapses.

I hate to use a piece of personal family pain here.   Cousin is about to pass because she was skipping chemotherapy in favor of injecting mistletoe or some other dubious thing.  Very strong 2nd amendment and Trumpy.

Science had its chance and all it got us was a bunch of TV channels, the Moon landings, faster shooting carbines, better acceleration in our cars, food that stays fresher longer, the ability to ship products anywhere on the Globe (assuming it is a globe), lower death rates among the poor, the ability to solve the mechanics of quantum physics to improve battery technology, an understanding of the origins of the Universe and some other junk nobody needs.
