I know the movements have been around since forever but always on the fringe. The legend or trope goes that the FBI informant in any local KKK group is the only guy in the local KKK group with any money or motivation to do anything really dangerous. I grew up reading "Soldier of Fortune" or whatever other survival magazines which always had the types of people in them who buy the products and espouse that lifestyle. Who else needs survival rations but people who think the end times are nigh? While that is dumb and a problem because J6, etc. I think a lot of people who have firearms skills are being shifted to the left by the radicalization of the RW which moves the Overton Window.
