Fauci is the today's apotheosis for the Scientific method and a technocratic ethic. If you a Christian fundamentalist / biblical literalist he is the anti-Christ's chief earthly rep right now. (OK, that last one is a little fanciful, but it captures the idea.....🤣) I'm friends with those people... it's not fanciful. They think vaccines are the mark of the beast. Quote

I mentioned this before but in the city that I live in, the lowest vaccination rates among elementary school children are in schools operated by Christian extremists. Easy to identify, the word "Christian" appears in the title and they charge a tuition fee. Their vax rates were as low as 18%, and they operate in affluent neighbourhoods where the publicly funded schools have vax rates as high as 88%. My daughter in law's mom is a nutter who says things like "in this household we respond to diseases with prayer". Quote

I heard someone on TV say "I've got the blood of Jesus on me" In one of those regret stories a guy who's whole family got it said "I don't understand.... we're a strong conservative Christian family" Quote

"The truth will make you free" I don't know how you can read the NT and not realize this is what it is all about. Not rules, not superstitions, not theology and hierarchies. If you want to live successfully, without fear, ("abundantly" as the man said) you have no hope whatsoever if you will not see and understand what really is: in nature, in other people, in yourself. oblong Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Was my wife’s patient. As soon as I mentioned his last name she knew. she’s been off for a week and all of her ICU patients since her last day have either died or been on a vent to prepare for hospice. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Just a reminder that there was an open Supreme Court seat in 2016 that Republicans held hostage for 9 months and Democrats still didn't turn out and vote for Hillary. Democrats are getting what they deserve. There will be consequences for generations. Quote

There, in fact, is the most overused word in American marketing: "deserves." If you are an American you don't "deserve" jack, because you are doing a damn half-assed job on both your foreign and domestic responsibilities. Quote

It's always a damn purity contest with Democrats. If you didn't like Hillary why didn't you show up in the primary? Once she made it through, the choice was obvious. With Hillary we wouldn't be losing abortion rights and who knows what else with this Supreme Court, there would have been thousands fewer people dead from COVID, there would have been no insurrection, and many federal agencies such as USPS wouldn't have been gutted, but guess what, we wouldn't have gotten Medicare for all so Democrats would pout and not show up in 2020 and the Trump era is just delayed 4 years.
