mtutiger Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Unlike yesterday, the pitching matchup clearly tilts Tigers. But then again, they seem to make most opposing pitchers look like Tom Seaver. So, hard to feel optimistic for this one. Quote

kdog Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) The barrel %...look away it's hideous. Edited April 28, 2022 by kdog Quote
mtutiger Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Can't believe I'm saying this, but this looks like the strongest possible lineup they could put out there right now. Which isn't a good thing when it involves both Castros. Quote

I don't understand Garneau on the roster at this point. It's just a wasted spot at this point. They have a shallow bench and little to no maneuverability when it comes to platoons or resting guys. Tigermojo Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Get these guys some heated diapers so they can play in the cold. Quote

Increasingly of this view, although Haase has me wondering whether he should be the guy to be DFA'd at this point. I hate to talk like that, but the magic seems to be fresh out, and I don't know that his defense behind the plate or in left is good enough to keep if he can't hit. I thought it was interesting that AJ pinch hit Harold for him last night.... maybe he was playing matchups, but idk. Edited April 28, 2022 by mtutiger Quote

The slumps and the roster construction are a bad combination. There aren't many opportunities to play matchups. Maybe Hinch did it just to do it so that he avoided rust? Somewhat along the lines of getting players playing time to avoid rust? Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Are three great starts in a row from the Kid too much to ask? Not really fair to him, but it is what it is - we need him to come through. Quote
Dave Christian Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Skubal sets em down 1-2-3 in the 1st. Let's see some offense!!! Quote
mtutiger Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Ober seems really hittable.... at least for Major League offenses anyway Quote
Dave Christian Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Derek Hills batting stance doesn't inspire much confidence in me. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) It's not like the Twins aren't trying to be good hosts in this series. You can't complain they aren't giving the Tigers every chance to get a win. Edited April 28, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 this is where your pitcher can't help but start thinking, "I'm gonna have to be perfect here, aren't I?" Prolly doesn't help. Quote
