gehringer_2 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 tiger pitchers are getting hammered on change-ups. Maybe that suggests a change in strategy? Quote
chasfh Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Hit too slow for the double play. Even succeeding in getting soft contact is biting us on the ass. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 (edited) I actually thought that was hit pretty good, and not close to turning the DP. But Schoop was deep, Muncy motored. Edited May 1, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
mtutiger Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 (edited) Are the Dodgers gonna ***** and moan every time they don't swing at balls down in the zone? They did it all night last night too, even with balls in the superimposed box They are the best team in baseball, but they arent entitled to preferential treatment Edited May 1, 2022 by mtutiger Quote

gehringer_2 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Just now, chasfh said: Statcast says it was 84 mph. MLB average is about 87. still, you'd take 84 any time to turn a dp if you're at DP depth. Quote

Tigermojo Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Schoop was way over in the hole closer to first. He and Baez turned it as well as possible but Muncy out ran it. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 (edited) but speaking of exit velocity on stat cast - do you know if that is measured just in the direction of travel or the is that the vector in the forward level component? It would make difference on a ball at 20 deg angle to the ground and I've never thought about the question before in terms of the time to get a certain distance across the field. kdog Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 You can't really yell at a bunch of hitters who are missing pitches and making weak contact. This is amateur hour stuff. They have good hitters with track records. I just don't get it. Quote

No, I don’t know. I don’t have an advanced physics education. What would be the difference? Quote
mtutiger Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Nice to see that Chris Taylor decided not to give the umps an earful... Quote
