Motor City Sonics Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Just occured to me that when a Mike Morse commercial came on I realized he is basically Howard Hamlin. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 I think Vince and Peter's next project is Interview With A Vampire (as a series) - on AMC this fall. I think they are Executive Producers and not showrunners. Their standards have got to be high, though. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 It opens - in color. A loading dock some generic place in Canada (Canadian flag is shown). A couple of the guys loading whatever they are loading are bitching about the pandemic and the supply chain slowdowns and how everything is late. When the truck is loaded they walk over to the cab and hand the manifest to the truck driver, a bald man, wearing sunglasses, he does not say much of anything. He signs it and one of the loading dock workers says "you're all clear, smooth sailing all the way to Yellowknife". The truck pulls away, Manitoba plates..............various quiet shots of the truck........the wheels, the cargo in the back, the inside of the cab, the back seat sleeper space.........the camera pans around and the bald truck driver comes back into view and as he pulls the mask off his mouth the picture turns to black and white...........because it's Jimmy/Saul/Gene/Viktor.........long haul Canadian Truck Driver in 2022. Cue theme song not working because the tape is trashed................the next forty minutes is how we got here. the last ten is how he gets caught. Quote
Edman85 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 I have no idea how it ends. And I've been able to call several things that have happened this season. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 I didn't realize until watching AMC's replay right now that the puzzle Florida Kim was working on was just blank....... Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 I really think the one more Walt scene will be Walt & Saul in the Vacuum Cleaner Guy's basement, that night. It'll be dark. Darker scene kind of hides some of the aging from the original scene. I can just imagine that leads to Gene calling Ed only to have someone answer the phone saying Ed just died. 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 I have it on two TVs right next to each other in case there is an issue. Different commercials? That's weird. Quote
lordstanley Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Was it known that Marie Schader was going to be on? I don’t really go to the blogs that talk about upcoming stuff like that. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 Two new series with Bob Odenkirk and Giancarlo Esposito next year..............nice ! Quote

lordstanley Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Walter White must have coined the term “stay in your lane”. Quote

lordstanley Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I’m counting on it running right until 10:37 but I could see it ending sooner. 20 minutes or less left. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 He got what he deserved. Loved the thing with suits at the beginning and the end. Quote
lordstanley Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Before I read what anyone else says…I will say I am very satisfied. Quote
oblong Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 It was perfect. I like they didn’t dwell on a chase. Loved the callback with Chuck. Walt saying “you were always like this?” It was perfect. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 It felt like a different show tonight. One last scheme but we didn't get to see how he built the scheme, we just saw the end of his bargaining. Did it stick the landing? I say yes, but in subtle ways. A show that is so full of surprises, the two surprises in this episode was that the chase was over in 5 minutes. His greed got him. Going back for the diamonds. I was thinking the last episode when Jeff got arrested that he should have hung up that phone grabbed his diamonds, stolen watches and scammed cash and skidaddled immediately, but he got cocky. Thought he was going to walk into the police station and play them right under their noses, but a 90 year old lady with a Life Alert brought him down. The other surprise is that he owned up to it all. First time in his life. He still gets to be a celebrity and he's probably jailhouse lawyering everyone in the joint - it's the thing that keeps him safe and alive in there. Awfully brave choice to have the last 4 episodes in black & white. So Vince, what's next, buddy............I'm in ! Quote
Hongbit Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I have many thoughts that I can’t really gather properly. Great episode. Great Series. I love how it ended in the same way it started in S1E1 with Jimmy and Kim sharing a cigarette against a cement wall. Quote
