We were on a 12 hour car ride to Vermillion, SD with a 4 year old and a 3 month old.  They did incredibly well on both the out there and the back home legs of the trip, so can't complain there, and it probably helped to split that car ride into 2 days.  I remember watching a Tigers-Yankees playoff game out there and then somewhere around the I80 truck stop metropolis where we landed for a night heading back home.
