This is sort of a real thing. Jesus didn’t say this. It’s an inference from a number of Bible figures who received endowment from the Lord upon their calling to special tasks. Moses, Isaiah, Peter….

However, it begs the question of what exactly God wants done. It’s an impossible stretch at best, blasphemy at worst, for Lara to infer this is the Lord’s agenda.

In Moses' case he was eminently qualified, he grew up in Pharoah's household. "Isaiah" was probably at least 2 different people we don't really know much about. I'll give you Peter.

The special status of apostles is what makes this most recent strain of post-post-modern New Apostolic Reformation churches the most dangerous.  If you are willing to accept that Lara Trump or Donald Trump have divine attribution, well...how are you going to make public policy in a country where anyone else doesn't believe they are divinely inspired? 

The best you can hope for in that scenario is that your non-divinely inspired faith or non-faith is treated like accepted minority with dhimmi status.

That's part of the system. Trump talks to his own people through channels the mainstream largely ignores, so he can be as inflammatory/crazy uncle as he want to be to keep them charged up and it flies under the radar to the larger public he'd just as soon only holds the image of him from 'the Apprentice'. There is almost a parallel to the way that ME leaders have one public stance pronounced in English for consumption of the West and quite another in Arabic to their own masses.

Assuming this is a justification for the idea that Trump is flying under the radar to the majority of Americans who continue to know nothing about him other than his charming You’re Fired schtick, and thus he will win in November thanks to an electorate largely ignorant of the worst of him, I think where this breaks is that Trump’s worst antics even while firmly ensconced in the bosom of MAGA gatherings are easily accessible to the rest of us through the mainstream media, which are still the most highly-consumed. Trump’s not hiding anywhere anymore. We can all see him, one you would have to be assiduously avoiding him to never see it.

Well, we hope so, but it's continually depressing to see how willing most of the MSM remains to normalize his behavior.
