Not sure which thread to put this in, but it's a beautiful photo.

Obligatory quote any time Oscar is referenced:

They don't think it be like it is, but it do

Also pictured in the photo was little known Ron Cash who batted .400 in 39 AB for the Tigers as a rookie.  You can bet my 10-year old self got excited about his future.

If I am not mistaken, Norm Cash refused to wear a uniform with N Cash on it.  He was insulted by the idea that fans would need the N to be able to figure out who he was.

I don't recall Ron Cash.

Were they on the team at the same time?

If they were, I can understand why their first initial would be on their jerseys.

They were on the same team yes, hence the R on Ron's uniform.  Norm didn't want the N, didn't think it was necessary.

I thought the world of Norm Cash.

I would never have thought he was that persnicketty.

I guess when you are a star you expect immediate recognition

Yes, surprising from someone who seemed to be so good natured.

I have no interest in Boyd for 2 more years.

If he can squeeze into 2022 based on - circumstances - fine.

But after 2022 it's time for the Tigers and Boyd to part ways.

.Personally I think even Boyd will be "too expensive" for them.

Well, see there? I was wrong, and have no problem admitting it. Boyd comes back at a considerable bump over what we previously were paying him

I guess I never realized it wasn’t until 1960 they did this.

That’s actually Luis Aparicio’s brother Trey Aparicio with the 33 jersey.

I don't what thread this belongs in, but just enjoy it.

Oh, here's another one:

when a switch pitcher faces a switch hitter, who gets the last switch? (the hitter)

And where do you get a custom reversable baseball mitt?

I think you have to choose inning to inning
