Back to back shutout wins for the Tigers! The Twins with a Tigersesque 5 hits and zero runs over the course of those 2 games.

If they can score runs more consistently, big if, they could be a tough out for the opposition going forward. Especially as they get some of their pitching back off the injured list

Interesting you should mention that.

On July 10, 2011, on his way to a Cy Young, Verlander's ERA touched 2.15, which was the lowest point it would touch for the season, finishing at 2.40.

Without checking all the records, I would guess that that 2.15 is the best ERA for any Tiger starter at any point in a season after 10+ starts since JV in '11.

Ha Bally's must have saw your post and wondered themselves cause they just showed the stat on the postgame show that in the last 40 seasons only JV in 2012 with a matching 2.15 and David Wells in 1993 with 1.85 have had a 2.15 or less through 10 starts.

LOL - the funny thing is that Keating said 2012 and the reference I posted was 2011, but damn if JV didn't hit 2.15 two years in a row, though he wasn't quite as dominant in '12 as in '11 and Price edged him out for the CY that year.
