Tigermojo Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Tigers have a lot of buggy whips in this game. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Schoop makes it 5-0 with a double of his own. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 The Castros are not going to go quietly. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 With all the positivity going on in this page I feel bad posting something bad but I just saw on the Bally's crawl that Manning has been shut down due to a "bicep tendinitis" diagnosis. Not sure what the time table is on something like that. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 LOL - Bally cut away before we saw if Skubal got the handshake or not. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Hittin or should I say Hoppin Harold goes way up to make the catch and get Skubes through 7 shutout innings! Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Wow that's impressive that this is already Skubal's 6th game of giving up no runs while going 5+ innings. That's over half the time he goes out he doesn't give up a run. Quote
1776 Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Is it wise to let him throw 103 pitches at this point? Quote

There's a couple others like Cortes in NY and Gausman in Toronto but I think at this point JV would be number 1 followed by Skubal and those other guys. edit: Going by ESPN's WAR Martin Perez from Texas would or atleast should be in the clubhouse lead he has been worth 3 WAR, almost 1 more than anybody else in the AL at this point. On July 10, 2011, on his way to a Cy Young, Verlander's ERA touched 2.15, which was the lowest point it would touch for the season, finishing at 2.40. Without checking all the records, I would guess that that 2.15 is the best ERA for any Tiger starter at any point in a season after 10+ starts since JV in '11. 1 Quote

My first thought was maybe Anibal in 2013 but I went and looked and he got it to 2.38 after 10 starts but then got lit up in his 11th and never got it below that but still managed to finish with a 2.57 ERA. Gausman and Verlander came to mind immediately, although I didn't realize how good Cortes has been. Damn Quote
