gehringer_2 Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 take three games of their distance back in one series ain't too bad. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 I mean how many 5 game series have they actually played in? Quote

He is still a decent hitter when he's healthy, but not useful when he is unhealthy which is frequent. He crushed that ball up the middle in the first, just had him played perfectly. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 6 out of 8 against divisional opponents with 2 starting pitchers and 2 outfielders on your roster and one of your names (Javy) not hitting yet - that's impressive as hell. WE NEEDED MORE OF THIS IN ARPIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 We actually have a better run differential than the White Sox. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 I'm glad the misplay by Clemens didn't cost us the game. Enough of the utility infielders in the outfield. Quote

He's still the only hitter we have who can even get close to 'carrying' the team. Maybe Tork gets there, but not there yet. Baez can carry a team for a month or so. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 The Yankees are playing a DH today. Hopefully, they go thru their BP in the night game. Quote

I don't know if either of them can truly carry a team, but Baez could probably carry it better than Cabrera during a hot streak due to his power. Edited June 2, 2022 by Tiger337 1 Quote
mtutiger Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 If you squint, you can sort of see a path back to .500 between now and the All Star Break, especially with guys coming back from injuries (such as Meadows, ERod, possibly Greene, etc.).... but it requires they hold their own over the next eight games. New York and Toronto will be tough, and they have six games with them over the next eight. After that, a lot of games with the Royals/Guardians/White Sox, plus games with Texas, Arizona, Boston and San Francisco, none of whom (outside of SF) seem that daunting. Quote

Tiger337 Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 The Tigers have gone 12-7 and are 8 back in baseball's weakest division. Quote

How long can Edwin Rodriguez and Beau Brieske keep imitating major league starters? Tyler Alexander is the only guy we are close to getting back - well maybe Wentz depending on what they decide happened to him. It would be too hard to believe that we started the season with 4 guys in the minors who were all ready to hold down a starting role in the majors long term Edited June 2, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote

But yeah, that's a risk factor for them, they're still short on the starter side. Quote
