sabretooth Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 I just cannot see Willi holding a roster position for an entire season. Not enough power, not enough on-base, not enough singles, not enough defense anywhere. 1 Quote

kdog Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 That was hilarious....if you are this reliant on the Castros for offense, crap happens lol. If Baez, Grossman, Meadows, Schoop, Tork, etc were healthy and hitting to career norms you can carry a good defender out there. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Hahahahaha. Willi finally strikes gold. So between the shift extending the inning for ERodjr to playing Willi in CF, Tiger brain trust decisions biting them in the asz. Quote

I don't even see where the idea comes from that he is hitting enough to cover his D. Well, to say he plays D is already mistated. Edited June 4, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
kdog Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Meadows will be back Monday, Grossman will be back Friday, and Greene will be back soon after. But if the first two guys don't hit, you need Willi and Harold I guess? Quote

SoCalTiger Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Hinch is losing credibility forcing a shitty infielder to be an even worse outfielder. Madness. The manager had no clothes. The whole organization looks stupid doing this. How can we expect them to develop any new players when they actually think Willie Castro can play the outfield. Quote

kdog Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 The other options are Hill and Cameron right? RH hitters who can't hit. Quote

It's not just WCasteo. Haase and Clemens don't belong in a ML outfield either. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Jameson Taillon of the Yankees took a perfect game into the 8th last night, Cole has one through 5 tonight. If Cole can match him I wonder when the last time if ever a team went back to back starts of taking a perfect game into the 8th inning? Quote

I try not to be over reactionary with this stuff, and i think you may be overstating it a little bit, but really just an indefensible decision to make Willi play center when you have Cameron lined up next to him in right. I'm not going to pretend to know what boxes need to be checked, but if the Twins are carrying Byron Buxton with his limitations, then somehow I feel this team could handle carrying Greene and limiting him as needed until he checks all the boxes. kdog Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Would guess Greene's issues are conditioning primarily. He hasn't played baseball in two months. Quote
