BBFCFM Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Brieske has certainly remedied his pitch tipping. Quote
mtutiger Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Dont want to jinx it, but this is the best Brieske has looked all season... only real mistake was the cookie FB to Judge (even the Stanton double wasn't that bad of a pitch) Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 I seriously don't think I have seen Javy get a hit when I was watching him at the plate all season. Quote

Tiger337 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Pitchers should keep throwing Baez low and outside sliders for the rest of the season. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Stupid as it may sound, I'd like to see Javy ditch the shades while hitting. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Hinch should tell Baez to just go up to the plate and keep the bat on his shoulder. If he takes 3 fastballs down the middle for strikes so be it. Better than whiffing on sliders way off the plate. Quote

The funny thing is that he hit sliders really well last year. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/pitch-arsenal-stats?type=batter&pitchType=SL&year=2021&team=&min=10 Edited June 4, 2022 by Tiger337 Quote
mtutiger Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Gonna be a shame that Beau's reward for his best outing as a professional will be his fifth career loss and an 0-5 record. Quote

Dtrain72 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 How long before Baez flips off Tigers fans at Comerica this season? I'd say right before all star break. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Hill did the right thing letting the low slider go and it still caught the plate. Quote

I was skeptical that Brieske was going to be well served by having to finish his education on this crash course, but he's responding. He and Faedo (and Skubal off course) have been the high points of the season so far. Under any normal circumstance that would be more good news than you could expect in any season.
