Granted Skubal's season numbers weren't the best at the time but he was in the middle of a bit of a roll at that point after the disastrous April. Not to mention being one of the 2 or 3 best LHP prospects just the summer before. When the Yankees have a prospect like that all of them treat them like the second coming of Koufax but for other teams they are nobodies in their eyes. The Yankees TV broadcast isn't quite as bad, especially with David Cone elevated, he's pretty fair. But yeah, the Yankees oriented media have this tendency to act like the Yankees are entitled to at least 5 runs against pitchers that aren't big names or they haven't heard of and it's sort of ridiculous. Some of it is the Yankees stature, but tbh, some of it is laziness as well... maybe I'm spoiled by Dan Dickerson, but maybe do a little research before the next opponent comes to town... Beau Brieske isn't the best pitcher, but by virtue of what he has shown in the bigs to date, he clearly doesn't belong in AA either. Edited June 5, 2022 by mtutiger Quote
