Question on how you determine ththe speaker of the house.  Is it a simple majority or is it determined by the party in charge?  Like could we see, even if extremely unlikely, that a 220 GOP majority has 5 nutjobs who hold out and Pelosi is elected?

it's done by a roll-call vote of all House members.

If the new Speaker had any cojones he (or she) would actually govern from the middle as the Founders had intended. They could actually get things done by consensus.

House Speaker needs a simple majority. Which is why a lot of the MEGA keep talking up Trump for the position...
