I don't care about summers of competitive baseball. Winning 90 and making the playoffs isn't the goal.

If the brewers win the world series great then I'll try to replicate them and what they tell fans. Until then it's just talk.

What is the goal if isn't winning 90 games? Playoff results are small sample size flukes in a lot of cases. The best team doesn't win. If you get into the playoffs enough times, you'll eventually break through.

I have enjoyed many if not most of the last 38 seasons including some of the seasons where they had little chance to win but had some interesting players to follow.  My hyperbole was in response to your hyperbole that the Brewers should not be praised for having a good organization the last few years because they haven't won any championships.  I think that's ridiculous.

If there were some way it was actually conceivable to build build a 90+ win team and then tweak it in any such manner that would materially change its probability of winning the WS it wouldn't be, but there isn't.

I find it odd that they DFA Derek Hill the same day they trade Robbie Grossman.   Does that mean Kerry Carpenter is going onto the roster?

I think there’s a better chance we just got nothing for Robbie Grossman then we got something for Robbie Grossman. At least it’s marginally better than DFAing him.
