It would seem AJ would have figured out by now that if Soto walks a guy, THEN HITS a guy, HE SHOULD PROBABLY BE FUCKING PULLED.  I've loved the AJ hiring, but he is wearing thin rrrreeealllll fast...

Walk, hit batter, walk, three runs.

Can we try Alex Lange in there, now?

Yet AJ sticks with him...even a blind monkey could have seen this coming after the first walk...

Relief pitchers that can't throw strikes. SOT

If you are a lefty reliever who struggles and can't pitch to left handed batters, you probably shouldn't be a closer.

Like, that's where the walks and HBP happened. Unreal

If only there were someone in charge of making that obvious decision...oh well.

While I disagree with the decision unfortunately that's how managers always treat the closers, they seem to get the longest leash. They get to stay in until it's too late, if that was anybody else there would have been somebody up throwing after the first walk then rocket from the 2nd hitter but not for the closer.

A lot of people will blame Soto but those three runs are 100% on mismanagement and Hinch.  Once the bases were loaded Hinch should of had Vest or Chaffin ready to come in and Soto sat down.  Did Hinch really think Soto was going to find his form after 25 pitches.  He didn't look good from the first batter.

Skuval and Lange are literally the only players that are keepers on this team. Every single other player could easily be replaced.

Vest and Fulmer as well

I suppose they are still tantalized by his raw stuff—and lord knows, he's the fastest left-hander in the game—but if you can't control it, you can't be trusted to close it out at the moment of truth.

Yep, 100% on Hinch.  Sooo tired of the bs about managers leaving a closer in "because he's a closer!", when clearly even non professionla schlubs like most fans could see Soto needed to be put on a short leash after the walk, then yanked after he hit a guy.  It's such a simple fucking decision to make given Soto has captain obvious, tell tale signs when he's gonna choke on his own gascan.

Terrible call to end the game, I would be more upset but lets face it all it prevented was the Rangers pitcher from throwing another pitch and seeing Hasse hack at a slider off the plate.
