I noticed the Tigers taking a lot fewer strike ones early in the game, swinging and getting hits instead. I'm all for making pitchers work, but don't do it by just giving them strike one! If I were pitching to the Tigers today I'd have felt pretty ambushed by their new found aggressiveness. You only get the element of surprise on a change in approach once, but I'll take it.

I didn't see the early part of the game but that's nice to hear. I wonder if it's a new strategy or if it's just the fact that the starting pitcher was terrible even before the game so they thought there was no need to make him work to try to get him out of the game early. I'm hoping for the former and that we will start to see this going forward. Even if it's not all the time atleast try to mix your approaches up sometime.

I think it would be really cool, and at the same time a statement of sorts, if the Tigers adopted the uniforms they’re wearing today as their ‘City Connect’ uniforms.

I'd be all for it. I love the Stars' uniforms and look forward to this game every year.

The Tigers city connect jerseys should consist of an Orange hat and jersey, white belt, orange pants, white socks and orange cleats this way they resemble a construction barrel cause Lord knows nothing represents this city and state more than those.

I love the Stars uniforms.   I would love to have a Stars shirt, but stripes on a fat guy, horizontal or vertical...........not great.

I guess I have to get not fat.    I can do that.

Regarding Riley Greene.  He's not there yet.   When Daz comes back in a couple of days they can send him down for the 15 more months he needs, Lynn.

If the Tigers had a grey road uniform that was sort of in the style of the stars, with the blue stripe down the middle and Detroit with Navy Blue letters except the R in white, that would be cool.    Even if they just wore it occasionally.   I don't like the current road unis, I think they're kind of boring.

I'm watching through the replay now and it looks like a conscious decision on their part for sure.

With a lot of the success yesterday, there's a serious platoon split with some of these Tigers hitters (Baez, Grossman come to mind, without looking at the #'s, probably TORK! as well) going against lefties versus righties. Add in that Taylor Hearn isn't the best pitcher (and most Ranger fans were ready to bump him from the rotation before this start), it suggests that it may have been the perfect storm for a big offensive day.

My question is can they do this against right handed starting pitching? Dane Dunning tomorrow, who is a solid if unspectacular righty, will be a good test. I want to see more before thinking this isnt a dead cat bounce

Here is the complete list of every player who had at least two hits and two walks in his debut game, as of this morning. Not a Hall of Famer among them, but who cares. So cool to see him sprint out of the gate like this.

Hope for the best but it's only one game....

Of course, and like I said there are no Hall of Famers on that list. It's a fairly random collection of players.

Still: beats the hell out of 0-for-5 with four strikeouts.

I would settle for Joe Mauer or even Jay Bruce tbh
