gehringer_2 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Tork (and Grossman) are getting killed depending on the umps to save their ABs. Try to spoil some of those pitches instead of hoping the umpire can actually call an accurate strike. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 want to see Riley do something in one of his ABs later in the game. Quote
SoCalTiger Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I would like to see Tork more aggressive ad well. Too much strike zone management with Coolbaugh and not enough organic baseball instincts. Grip and rip. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 bad AB by Candelario. Gets up 3-1 with a man in scoring position goes straight to hack mode. Quote
Jim Cowan Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Just watched the video of Javy's slam, oh boy did he hit the shit out of that one. He swings so hard that it is sort of unlikely that he is going to connect, but when he does it is beautiful to see. It would be nice to see it more often of course. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Soto's slider made its reappearance as an effective pitch tonight. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Dan's call of the granny with video, for those who are into that sort of thing (like me) Quote

kdog Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) Rony Garcia is an adequate pitcher. I’d kill for a hitter like him lol. Edited June 25, 2022 by kdog Quote
romad1 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 The appletv had Torkelson discussing the specific launch angle and how it would have made the Baez HR go different distances if he had been up or down an couple degrees. That was interesting. Quote

Many hitters, if not most, shorten up their swing to make contact with 2 strikes on them. Not Javy, he swings wildly. Quote

Before he switched to "long gone!", Harwell used to say: "It maybe...it is a Tiger homerun". Quote

Yeah, some people forget that “long gone” was not Ernie’s long-time home run call. Just like referring to Tiger Stadium as “The Corner”—he didn’t do that until at least the 1990s. Quote

I don’t remember even that as an established shorthand phrase used by any local broadcaster specifically referring to Tiger Stadium. I may not have been listening close enough, though. Quote
