MichiganCardinal
Ultimately the Secret Service reports to the Department of Homeland Security, who reports to the President. The findings of any investigation, including the cause of any injury to Trump (glass or bullet) are not Trump's decision whether to release. His medical records probably are. There are also congressional investigations that have been launched that are going to be public.

Motor City Sonics
Harris is in a tough position. If the convention refuses to nominated Biden - then if she ends up accepting it she looks like a back stabber. I WANT BIG GRETCH !!!!!!!!!! Whitmer / Cooper ? Whitmer / Bennett ? Whitmer / Beshear ? Whitmer/ Shapiro ? Or Michelle Obama - please step in !!!! Do it for country ! Do it for women ! Motown Bombers
It would be career suicide if Whitmer took the nomination. Perhaps these rat****ers should have pushed Biden out before the primary and had Whitmer run and make her case for why she should be the nominee instead of plotting a coup. LaceyLou
Seems like this is similar to what happened in the '44 election, except that I suspect FDR's health/prognosis was far worse than Biden's. Also not sure that the strategy they used then would work today, thanks to technology and multiple leaks around the WH.

These numbers wouldn’t surprise if it were a Detroit News poll but shocking to see the Freep as the source. Freep is owned by Gannett now. They still run the Op-Ed page to the left in counter point to the reactionary theocratic facists on Nolan Finley's Det News editorial board, but I think they maintain that more as a marketing stance than out of any kind of legacy loyalty to Knight-Ridder principles. Yup, that was the initial report before anyone had a chance to do any message massaging. I see no reason to doubt those spontaneous on-site reports. And really it hardly makes a difference, he *was* close enough to being assassinated, the only value in the truth is the comedic aspect of seeing Trump again feeding his narcissism with fantasy invention. Motown Bombers
Since Aaron Sorkin is throwing out the Dems should nominate Mitt Romney.

I thought we as a nation were going to try to be better than that going forward. Now we are both siding again. The USSS have some issues with their leadership that appeared to have been corrupted by the Trump people. I personally witnessed multiple agents offered security jobs at casinos during the 45 admin. And that probably is the best place to land if you are in the USSS protective service guy, since the actual job sucks eggs. Yeah, I see the tensions caused by the private/public divide also playing out across the rest of the US national security community. A lot of people who shouldn't be contractors (lack degree but somehow got a clearance) are, a lot of people who should be unemployed (drunk, abusive, incompetent) are federal employees. Its not a perfect system for sure. But the USSS has some darkness to shine some light upon. What will really make this untenable is when its all ideological and based only upon fealty to the Leader. romad1
As for the reports that Trump asked for extra resources... well, what was normal for a presidential candidate? Dear Leader trying to stress the system and refusing to accept constraints on resources seems like. You had the RNC starting the next day and a major protection op ongoing.... mtutiger
There's been a lot of nasty stuff that went back and forth throughout all of this, but we need to recognize how excruciating this decision was. I think he made the right decision, but by no means was this easy. I am proud of him
