Okay can we put this to rest now?

For anyone who hasn’t read any of the articles dealing with her gender…

in a nutshell:

Algerian Imane Khelif, who defeated Italian boxer Angela Carini in under a minute when Carini forfeited, is a woman from birth; however, she has naturally occurring high levels of testosterone and was excluded from a competition last year for failing an unspecified gender eligibility test, which has led many right-wing commentators to falsely claim Khelif is transgender or even a "biological man."

In fact, gender transitions are banned in Khelif's home country of Algeria, so if she hadn't been female at birth, she likely could not even have competed under their flag as a woman.

Khelif is not a transgender athlete. She was born female but has a disorder of sex development (DSD) that results in XY chromosomes and naturally elevated testosterone levels.

DSD encompasses a group of rare conditions that affect genes, hormones, and reproductive organs.

Individuals with DSDs may be raised as female but possess XY chromosomes and testosterone levels typically found in males.”

There's a real arrogance that we have to take a match between two people who aren't even from America and shoe-horn it into whatever stupid culture war bull**** that some of our residents insist on arguing about at any given moment

It's really embarrassing, to be honest. We should be better than that.

Is it any worse than waging a culture war about the very French Olympics opening ceremony?

Is it possible that might cost her a bunch of votes in Dearborn and thus put the state at risk?

Michigan is a very large state, and I think this conversation often loses sight of that.

Just my two cents

Biden won by 3 and Arabs are 2% of the population. Whitmer pulled it off but margins are thin.

Probably closer to 1% of actual registered voters, though. And other groups can and do shift election to election as well...

It isn't a nothing concern, but Pennsylvania is the most important state in this election. If they think he helps bring that state along, that is going to weigh heavily into their CBA

Shaprio said something folks didn't like when he was 20?

JD Vance said stupid **** this morning.

Kamala cheated in a 2nd grade Spelling Bee

Trump cheated on every wife.

There are subtitles, you know.

Looking for a perfect human?    Well, Nick Lidstrom was born in Sweden, so you're out of luck, becuase there is nobody else.

Wait, you mean AOC danced in a music video in college?   She DANCED?   How dare she --- and to a song by a French band.   Means that she hates America.

Gonna go out on a limb and say this won't factor in to a decision

In fact he was so close to the truth that he nailed the reason Arafat would never sign a deal - because Yassir knew the radicals would get him if he ever turned hard on them.

Well posted.

It just highlights the level of ignorance the cultural warriors start from.

Sad truth is that in today's American legal system,  $259K is cheaper than trying to litigate your innocence  so a settlement in that range doesn't tell you if the person was guilty or just practical.
