Since I knew she was on thin air in other areas, I just waited for the hammer to come down on her, which it did probably within a few months after that HR meeting.

yeah - it does depend a lot on how fast your org's turnover is. Things turned over relatively fast at the regional level in one org I worked for, you could basically keep your head down and just mostly avoid a bad middle manager because they wouldn't be there long in most cases. Obviously there are limited places you can do that. In some orgs you can cultivate your boss's boss, which can pay off but can also be risky.

Can't wait to see you out there picking corn, soybeans, and walnuts. 40-44% of our farm and agriculture workforce is undocumented according to the USDA. Good luck with replacing 40% of any industry's workforce.

Umm, corn and soybean are 100% automated. Combines run off of GPS you don't even need a driver. My 65 year old neighbor manages 500 acres by himself.... Who eats walnuts?

Tell me you have no idea how a farm works by telling me you have no idea how a farm works.

Riddle me this Smart Dude. If all farm work is automated then who exactly hires 283 thousand farm workers (the number estimated by the Center for Migration Studies report, look it up). That's about 4% of undocumented workers in the U-S.

Now maybe if they (both Republicans and Democrats) actually went after the businesses that hired undocumented workers (builders, landscapers, folks that run poultry houses which are considered agricultural btw, domestic help, Trump's wife, guys like Musk who came here illegally because he lied on his visa application) it would be more effective than whatever we've done in the past.

Check your figures, Obama expelled more undocuments than Trump and built more wall.

Yes, his MAGA folks were going around bashing Liz Cheney (which I'm all in favor of on foreign policy) and talking about how there were no wars under Trump (which is not true). They talked about him as if he were Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink.

Maybe I inherently blocked all of that BS out because BS.

C'mon, CMR - who needs fruits and veggies, don't they call come from the left coast anyway? We don't care about those farmers, they don't have enough votes to carry their states.

Nope - You can have beans and bread on weekdays and beans and corn on weekends, and you'll get fat and happy.

Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, and pumpkin/sunflower seeds. (All unsalted, of course).

…. and some 72% dark chocolate.

(& the 2000 year old man also recommends natural things, like water and CLOUDS….. and an occasional stuffed cabbage) 😁

So you think deporting 40% of our farm and agriculture workers won't have a negative effect on food prices and food supply?

I just love the way the media and MAGAS are going insane over this pardon. LOL. An effn felon is going to be president. Spare me the fake outrage.

On another hand, the election of a felon and this particular pardon can both be bad situations.

The argument you use sounds very similar to the south when talking about freeing slaves. You would rather under pay an illegal than pay a proper wage to an american.

I'd rather they got paid a fair wage and be allowed to stay.  If someone is productive and stays out of trouble, I want them to have a quick path to legal immigration.

I top my yogurt with walnuts and flax seeds.

I’ll give you my walnuts when you pry them from my cold, dead liberal hands.
