*sigh*

Far as I know, major donors are not supposed to choose our candidates.

News bulletin, donors have been choosing candidates since Thomas Jefferson and John Adams started forming political parties.

Up until the early 70s, party bosses were the ones who decided on the standard bearer most of the time.

But keep on keepin on

Democrats should be fully supporting Biden until he’s not the candidate. If you have concerns he shouldn’t be the nominee, do it behind closed doors and deny every leak. This going on CNN and saying you have no shot is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

Yeah I know that but to publicly drop Biden because your wealthy donors told you to is not going to win over votes.

He's too old.   Just stop.  Trump is too old as well.    One really good term coming out of that abomination is a really good legacy to leave.    This country needs new energy.   Put the ego aside - do the right thing for your country while you still have it.     The courageous thing to do would be to pass the torch.

that may be a true take - in the abstract, but the primary season is when the *public* had to make that decision and it didn't. All those ambitious potential democrats in the field that people are talking about all looked at Biden and decided he was too formidable to take on. Now the chattering class in the media want to revisit that decision - and from a vantage point of having much less inside understanding than those potential candidates that didn't run.

The system isn't designed to to just drop in candidates after the fact - not gonna work.

The Northam bruhaha should be the model for this. If Biden just keeps on keeping on, people are finally going to figure out there is no story in his age. If he keels over, then he can be replaced! 🤣

If anyone wants to read through the data, an internal Democratic pollsters data from Open Labs got leaked out. One interesting data point I saw was this point that had, adjusted for name ID, every alternative candidate from VP Harris on down outperforming Biden.

What's funny is as more people got to know Dean Phillips, the more they didn't like him. Not sure I want to go on this theory that once people get to know Whitmer, they will vote for her. That's the whole point of the primary. It reminds me of Beto. He did so well in Texas that everyone wanted him to run nationally. He did and fell flat on his face.

Enough with these fantasies. If it isn't Biden, the only feasible option is Harris.

And I am fine with that. And if it is Biden, I'll make myself fine with that and be out door knocking, phone banking, and working to get out the vote.

As I have shared and posted on here before, if you want to sign up to volunteer to help out the Biden campaign and Michigan Democrats do it here on the MDP's website. Signup to door knock, make phone calls, text, whatever.

And as I've said before, I'm volunteering on local campaigns.

Just like when Nancy was protecting Ronald in 1984 when signs of his Alzheimer's were already starkly visible...

Yes.

So are you saying that is the preferred route, we should just let the first lady/man handle the job if the elected person can't?

Along those lines...

I'm voting Dem NO MATTER WHAT come November...

So...

If Biden were to die a couple weeks beforehand, and they decided it would be best to just stick a broom handle up his back even though everyone could EASILY see that they were attempting a Weekend With Biden move...

I'd be perfectly fine with that. I'll vote for Biden's Corpse...

I have no issue with that whatsoever.

After Biden's Corpse has won the election and been sworn in...

They'll admit it and say: "I guess we get to see what a Kamala Harris is going to look like for the next 4 years. We could have continued with Biden's Corpse for a little longer, but... the smell was starting to get to everyone...".

Whatever happens after Biden is elected... I don't care. At all. I... do NOT... care.

As long as Trump's FASCIST MF'ING Scumbag Dictatorship is eliminated from contention... I'm good.

With Biden's Corpse...

or otherwise...

Frankly I don't even expect Biden to make it through another term. Either he dies or steps down. That's fine. If he gets too bad and refuses to step down, invoke the 25th amendment.

Yes, you are wrong on the Neuro. There are hundreds of staffers at the White House and also over 1,000 military personnel who are treated at the White House.

Glad to see you're eating up their excuses without any questions.  To be fair, to question them means you're subverting democracy though so I get why you wouldn't do that.

How did Biden's doctors letter start out?  Something like 'due to hipaa we normally wouldn't say anything, but I got permission from the doctor and biden to let you know that doctor has seen other patients at the WH.'  You can't say a doctor works at a facility due to Hipaa?

Seriously?  And he's treated 1000's of people at the WH? In looking up information on the white house medical center it's primary function is the president and their family along with dealing with any urgent care needs that might happen at the White House and not until more recently, has the scope been pushed out to include the VP and their family as well.  Maybe I could get past a general doc on staff too for full time employees, but a specialist?  1000's of people?  So are we sending folks to the WH for care or do we really have 1000's of people that work full time at the white house that need to see Neuro docs?

Or stick a broom handle up his back.
