apparently Trump was busy working on developing his bone spurs and missed a minor event in Dallas in Nov 1963.

Seems like the VP made quite a bit of difference on January 6th.  Thankfully, he didn't get in that car.

I guess what concerns me and i've had this conversation with others today after the NABJ panel went so badly, that Trump fans will start acts of violence to disrupt the election process because they know he is going to lose.

That's what I was implying here:

But that's the thing, the black community is past that, anyone who isn't white white is basically an honorary member because they share the common experience of non-whiteness in America. Beside - there is no particular profit in the US in claiming to be DESI anyway - it's a straw man.

Like a wise man once said, "race" is a social construct. It only exists in the mind of the beholder. That doesn't make it less powerful, just more foolish.

So true. A substantial percentage of people who are considered white southerners have black ancestors in their bloodlines. Under the South's one-drop rule they would have been targeted by Jim Crow, but because they looked white enough, their family was considered white, lived in white neighborhoods and were embedded in white institutions such as schools and churches, they got to perpetrate Jim Crow instead. And that's because it was society that made them "white", not God, who doesn't dabble in such foolishness.

Funny how all the white people here know how all the black people feel.

You're literally here defending a white guy challenging a black person's blackness.

Troll better.

One question...do you think Trump imagines Kamela Harris is the Native American type Indians and not South Asian Indian because he was anti-Indian casino when he ran that sort of business into the ground?

It seems so stupid, but incredibly plausible for Trump. Just like he doesn't know the difference between political asylum and an insane asylum.  I was also just reading some online speculation that he may have in the moment confused the Vice President with Nikki Haley in regards to thinking she was always Indian.   So, the slut shaming didn't stick, or the laugh or she's a crazy woman, but hey, let's try this she doesn't know what race she is.   That's totally going to get us the black vote!

My point being maybe African Americans might not like that she is called Indian American when it helps her in some way. But Black when it helps another way. She will be called the first African American woman president right? Not saying black should or will vote for Trump but they feel used.

She graduated from Howard University.  I doubt she would have gone there if she didn't identify as Black.  Her mother was from India, so she surely identifies as Indian too.  There are millions of biracial people in this country who don't choose one race as their identity.

He's being funny, but he highlights the main theme of the Trump era:

Trump says something insanely stupid, something people who otherwise support him know deep down, is stupid... and then instead of addressing what he said head-on, they take what he said and work *backward* to engineer a convenient explanation of what he meant. It's happened so many times in the past years

Isn't it old? Some people will support him no matter what, but for the rest of us, doesn't it get exhausting? Do we really want four more years of this ****?

that plus the negative effects of an administration catering to the ignorant, cruel, exploitative and the vile.

And a foreign policy hand-crafted by the Kremlin.

I always thought that the end of the Trump era would be when people just get tired of him.

I honestly cannot believe we are having this conversation, but the reality is that it's only because of the need to engineer backward a response to something idiotic Donald Trump said.

David Byrne said it best.... same as it ever was... same as it ever was...
