The devastation in western NC is something that is hard to fathom. I-40 is closed from I-77 to Tennessee. Towns have been wiped out, gone. It’s beyond words. The death count is nowhere near what it will be due to drownings and yet to be discovered bodies due to collapsed homes/fires, etc.

As I approach my 70th year, I can’t think of anything as devastating as this in North Carolina in my lifetime.

Yeah, we know very little about what really happened at this point... The news will get so much worse

If you're angry, disgusted, depressed, mad, or whatever about Trump then come and help knock doors with the Michigan Democratic Party and the Harris/Walz campaign. Door knocking and phone banking are two of the very best ways you can get Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Democrats up and down the ballot elected. I've been doing it and you can too. There are campaign office all over the State of Michigan and all across the country if you aren't in Michigan. Here in Metro Detroit alone we have offices in Ann Arbor, Belleville, Canton, Detroit (3 offices), Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Livonia, Madison Heights, Pontiac, Port Huron, Rochester Hills, Southfield, Sterling Heights, Trenton, and Warren.

Pointless technical point: I think "FIGHTING FOR our rights" in the flyer looks weird, in that it highlights "FIGHTING FOR"  and then diminishes "our rights". As though the "FIGHTING FOR" part were far more important than the"our rights" part. I think the line should emphasize our rights, not diminish it, so that it reads more like, "FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS."

Friends of the wife living in Asheville area were told 1-2 weeks until power restoration. That's an immediate pick up and head to a northern city for a hotel situation.

My dad got ahold of the family there, but she is trapped on a mountain with no way out for a bit.

I post a lot of clips, and I know people get annoyed by Acyn and Yashar Ali and Aaron Astor and Filipowski clips and all

But, at a very basic level, if any of us were conducting a job interview, we would never hire someone who sounds like this.

The media sane washes him, so it is important to post these clips. The crowd looks bored to tears.

Trump running ads in Maine's 2nd district, and he can't even get them right.

Demographically, the attention tends to be focused on Hispanic voters, and not without reason: trends to the right aren't helpful.

Not enough attention is being paid to white voters and what trends may be at play, for whatever reason... The fact that Trump feels the need to spend for the ME-02 EC vote provides evidence to that effect.

I think I posted a few days ago that an inside the campaign dem pollster said they have a problem with hispanic men who believe trump has to be better for their employment because of his business background. Mark Cuban out there working that issue is probably the best thing the Dems have going. Shark Tank probably hits much of same audience Apprentice did so Cuban is perfectly placed for the role of de-legitimizing Trumps business cred.

I think the Democratic Party has taken Hispanic voters for granted to some degree and hasn't messaged toward economics in the way that they should. Not to mention immigration, which they are struggling as well (Harris' speech in Arizona a couple of nights ago is a good example of trying to counteract that)

My overall point that wasn't quoted needs to be grappled with: there's a lot of ink spilled on Hispanic voters these days, and certainly not without reason, but at the end of the day, anywhere between 68-70% of voters in this election will be white voters. That's even moreso the case in the battleground states, particular PA/WI/MI... Biden improved on Hilllary with white voters, particularly in the suburbs, and it's likely to going to happen again, both in suburban and rural settings, in 2024. It's a headwind for Trump that I don't think is given enough attention IMO.
