A lot of Hispanics are now 2nd and 3rd generation and have been raised in the US and went to US schools and speak English.

Honestly, based on my experience, they looked like they were newer than that, plus, second and third generations tend to assimilate and consequently disperse away from the kind of concentrated ethnic enclaves their immigrant parents and grandparents tend toward.

Apparently CNN is strongly smacking down the guy from the clip above

Now this clown will use his CNN banning as a badge of honor in maga world.  I applaud CNN for trying to get both sides of a debate but not sure how they move forward with these in the future.  Every other conservative they bring on now will try to sensationalize to get their CNN ban that they can parade around to the right.

And Byron Donalds is okay with them playing "Dixie".

Wow.   Sold your soul to the devil.

He’s basically the original guy the song was written for.

It's just a neverending steam of racism and bigotry from these Trump surrogates.

I don't watch cable news anymore, but how on earth did a "For You" level Twitter guy like Girdusky end up on their airways???

Social media > media media.

Agree. I think Bezos was trying to play a double game. He spiked the endorsement, but then has allowed his writers to savage his decision in his paper. - in effect simply making a bunch of individual endorsements. His mistake will be believing that Trump will honor any deal he made over an endorsement, esp after the editorial staff all wrote to repudiate it so forcefully.

No official deal was made, he simply favored Amazon over WaPo.  He probably gleefully watched his writers savage the decision as it's probably more along the lines of what he truly feels, without the official endorsement which is all Trump would have noticed.

Definitely goes to show how strong the US Government is though when Bezos can't stand up to even the possibility of Trump being POTUS again.

This probably needs its own thread but is anyone familiar with Neil Howe's book The Fourth Turning is Her. It's a follow-up to The Fourth Turning that says that there is a cyclical pattern of American history that happens every 80-100 years. It's laid out in four cycles High, Awakening, Unraveling and Crisis.

According to Howe we are in the Crisis Cycle a period of upheaval that will last until the 2030s similar to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, The Great Depression, etc.

We're seeing the last of the "Boomers" in power with Gen X'ers taking control.

This was mentioned by our financial guy in passing while discussing our finances. (It was after all the business was completed and we touched briefly on the election)

Im hoping the more pragmatic X know what the heck they're doing

We are always fueled by our resentments of the boomers.

I'm not sure it is as much Amazon as it is his space company Blue Origin. The announcement happened at the same time Blue Origin managers met with Trump. He's hoping to keep his government contracts alive and not controlled by Musk

One day Mars will need a governor with absolute powers.  It will be a battle between Bezos and Musk to see who gets to establish Mars as the colony of Trump/MAGA

I think people who “go back and forth” are the hidden Harris voters.  They just don’t want to admit it to others because they were trump voters.

having read Bezo's letter, I lean more toward that he is naive than ill-intentioned. Naive in the sense that like many American's in the middle of what they see as political breakdown, they don't have solutions for how to get out of it and instead keep reaching for wrong answers that have already failed.

I tend to agree. They don't like Trump but either are afraid or don't really trust Harris for whatever reason

Your 'Back and forth' voter is likely as not to stay home. Especially men, women will go vote anyway and maybe not note the top of the ticket.
