pfife Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 I'll always blame trump voters for trump victories. Because that's obviously who's fault it is. 1 Quote

Unrelated to the Arab vote I think she'll outpace Harris. Quote

Hongbit Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 The voter turnout for the primaries will be minuscule compared to what we will see next week. I’d suspect the trends will fluctuate widely as well. Quote

I would expect these people who were so passionate about Gaza and voted uncommitted would come out and vote for the senate candidate whose whole campaign was to appeal to them. Quote
romad1 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Watching Puerto Rican radio guy on MSNBC right now saying that each day without an apology from Trump et. al., has made PR residents angrier and angrier. Quote
LaceyLou Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 An apology might not be enough.... I believe there are a lot of people who feel that the campaign showed their true feelings, and I happen to agree with them. Quote

Bernie Sanders turned a bunch of young white men against Hillary which put us where we are today. You can keep doing this word salad of legislation from the 90’s but that’s where we are because you and other lefties pushed ****ing Jill Stein. I care about what happened 30, 40, and even 75 years ago, and it's important for people to understand history in order to lessen the chance that it will be repeated. A lot of what the middle class is going through now is a result of policies that were put into place in the 80s (income inequality, lack of investment in infrastructure, lack of exposure to different viewpoints on the media, etc), and a lot of these things have developed over decades. The more people who understand this, as opposed to thinking it's all because of the current President, the better off we'll be. It took us decades to get here, it won't be fixed overnight-especially if you vote for somebody who's going to expand the policies that caused it in the first place. And I'm aware that there are many who won't get the message. I'm hopeful that enough people can. 1 Quote

Well lucky for us Trump became president over what Clinton’s husband did in the 90’s that the current president supported. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 If the Telecommunications Act of 1996 was an affront to democracy and a dealbreaker, why did we vote for Joe Biden? Quote

Because we had no better, realistic choice to win with and we couldn't let Trump win again. And yes, the 1996 Telecommunications Act, and many other forms of deregulation, are an affront to democracy. Allowing corporations to have complete control over workers and society is indeed a problem for democratic institutions. As is allowing consolidation, where a small handful of corporations control more than 2/3rds of he radio and TV stations in this country. The right wing media ecosphere, formed on talk radio originally, did indeed give rise to the right's power. Whether it be the Republican Revolution of 1994, George W. Bush winning in 2000, or the Tea Party in the late 2000's, right wing talk radio aided all of that. And deregulation of radio and other media outlets, done through the 1996 Telecommunications Act, aided that all along. Quote
