Screwball Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 @Hongbit has been correct on the BLS stuff. The numbers have been messed up for a long time, but have gotten worse over time. They know the numbers, but who is "they?" Wall Street does, and an entire industry of of independent analysts who drill into the numbers to find what they might - and it's not pretty. Given to us by the BLS. But we get the headline numbers from Bubblevision who's job is to pump up the market. 10,000 people get laid off and the stock goes up - HEY! Ain't this great? No president tells the Fed what to do. Bankers run the world, and the Fed. As so accurately said years ago by a guy not popular here, but one of the best quotes ever; Quote The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. The rest is bread and circuses Quote

If there is one state that might flip unexpectedly, I would most expect it to be Ohio, even though it might be an even bigger lift than say FLA. The energy of the woman's vote in 2022 plus the across the board anger at the state GOP for trying to kill Ohio's referendum rules to prevent the abortion vote are the kind of thing that may stick in the craw of the average hard headed Ohioan and create the a quiet undercurrent of electoral shift that polling is going to miss. Please DON’T neglect to vote for those other candidates. 1 Quote
oblong Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 I voted for all D on my ballot except for Rashida. For that one I went Green Party. Not voting for a Republican for a very long except for extreme circumstances. In uncontested races I left it blank. Other races for judges I left blank too. Quote

One involves the actual peaceful transfer of power, and the other actually doesn't. of course. I didn't get very accurately to what I meant in my post. I don't see any actual threat to the transfer occurring this time because Biden won't be sitting on his arse if maga decides to act up in DC or anywhere else. So what I meant to say is that the transfer isn't going to be threatened (i.e. the process in DC is going to take place without interruption="peacefully") regardless of whether many, a few, or no cells of maga violence occur anywhere in the country or even DC. They will not be allowed to interrupt the process. Edited November 2, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote
