Last night while watching the Food Network I saw a disgusting Drumpf commercial filled with lies about immigrants, crime, and the economy. I feel sick. As I've said before, I work with a lot of immigrants that Drumpf likes to demonize-from Latin America and Haiti. They are good people, and hard workers. You know what part of the MSG rally chilled me to the bone as much as the Puerto Rico joke? Miller and his "America is for America only!" speech. All the live-in home health aides who took care of my mother for eight years were immigrants - mostly from Kenya, one from Haiti. I fully trusted them to live in my house and take care of my mom. 4 1 Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Feeling a bit more confident this morning. Momentum is clearly on Harris’ side. Me and the lady friend are going to some friends’ house after work to hopefully be able to celebrate (if we even know the results tonight). Quote

The Ronz Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 "The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you." To the Trump voters - You will never learn who is ****ting on you by looking down. The direction to look is the contained in Isiah 11:2 "Look up." To me, the worst pain caused by this cult isn't from losing the ones you love - and I have lost my entire family - It is the revelation you gain from finding out who the ones you loved really were. Trump wins this easily. RIP America - July 4, 1776 - November 5, 2024. Quote
oblong Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 A former member of this community who had a job writing about politics, a right winger for sure, put it out there on FB that he didn’t vote for either major party candidate as he found both morally unacceptable. A close family member of mine told my wife that while she wouldn’t reveal who she voted for, that it differs from her husband who I am pretty sure voted for him. No this isn’t a situation where she can’t tell him or anything like that. They’re good people. She just wanted to keep it to herself. She’s very religious. Stories like that are probably amplified everywhere. 1 Quote

romad1 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Not sure this is something I trust but https://rockefeller.dartmouth.edu/about-center/dartmouth-poll/media-and-results Quote When asked who they would support for president, 61.9% of Granite State voters say they would vote for Harris, 33.5% report that they would vote for Trump, and 4.6% report that they would vote for another candidate. Motown Bombers Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 While I’m confident Harris will win New Hampshire, I doubt it will be by a 2-1 margin. Quote

My hope is that my face isn’t numb anymore ( drooling isn’t a great look), but my bigger hope is that they don’t have the stupid bar TV turn to any political station. We’ll catch up on family /friend bull****, then I’ll go home and make some of my own concoctions for the rest of the night, and watch something mindless. If it happens, ask whether they’d be willing to change it, or at least turn off the volume. The worst that can happen is they say no, and they’ll be at least cordial about it—even in Jersey. Quote

That sounds on brand for him. He strikes me as a guy who wouldn’t care if one of the morally-unacceptable candidates won and stripped the country for parts, as long as he can tell his god that at least he had nothing to do with it, and that he would be offended if the other “morally-unacceptable” candidate won and kept the country operating as is for four more years, which will keep him writing screeds for another four years. Edman85 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Didn't he run Herman Cain's posthumous twitter? Quote
oblong Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 A preemptive defense of the pollsters, if necessary. They are based on data and objectivity. If turnout and voting patterns is a lot different from the past then how can they be expected to measure that? It’s a history based science isn’t it? Quote

Hongbit Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 It took a little more time voting this morning due to not checking a straight Democratic ticket. Even though the position doesn’t matter, there was absolutely no way that I was casting a vote for Denise Ilitch as UM Trustee. When the family chooses to step up and invest back in the teams they are essentially holding hostage, I will choose to support them again. 3 Quote
