CMRivdogs Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Tom Nicols on Musk’s thingofajig The irony is that Biden's term wasn't a disaster. Unemployment at 4, inflation at 2.4 - America's economy the envy of the world. As I wrote - long before this election - when people think that's "bad," illiberal populism thrives on fake nostalgia. I don't think there's much she could have done differently, or any Dem, for that matter, because - as I kept saying - this was always about voters in four or five states. Most people rejected Trump again, but a few hundred thousand in a nation of 350 million can negate that. /1 The Electoral College - which I once defended as a symbol of federalism - is going to produce another minority-vote president, and that's setting up a crisis of legitimacy. American institutions can't keep producing that outcome. But that's a subject for another day. /2x Quote

Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 So relieved the media spent the last four years talking about Hunter Biden and Joe's age. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I hope people enjoy Elon Musk's austerity plans to cut $2 billion and Trump's tarrif plan to reignite inflation and his tax cuts for the wealthy. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 What little has come in from Wayne County, she appears to be underperforming. Maybe the Arabs in Dearborn did break heavy for Trump. I hope Tliab has a plan for them. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Harris may do worse than Hillary. Quote
VegasTiger Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Probably goes without saying but anyone looking to buy a car should wait until Trump's sworn in. He'll make the fed reduce rates. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 What's wild is the house elections are going well for Dems. Quote
mtutiger Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 As far as the blue wall is concerned, it's a question of whether what's left can save Casey, Baldwin and Slotkin. My guess is that it probably can, but it will be razor thin... Quote

Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 What is the long term picture for the Senate? Dems are done in West Virginia, Ohio, and Montana. North Carolina has been stubborn. Florida looks out of the picture. Need to start getting more competitive in Texas. Probably pick a seat in Maine when Collins retires. Alaska may be a shot. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Georgia has been called for Trump. I'm off to bed. Hope things are better in the morning. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Can’t sleep, but with Pennsylvania gone, that’s a wrap. I’m done trying to understand people. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Harris may actually lose the popular vote. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 From now on pollsters will only poll The Ronz inner circle. Quote
Deleterious Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Shane Gillis is the big winner tonight. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I was spectacularly wrong. While my life will not change substantially, I'm sad for our country and the rule of law. Quote
