Mr.TaterSalad
Over the years I've kept tabs on the kids who bullied me in middle or high school to see where they're at in life. This is where one of them ended up in life. Good news is that we all get to keep tabs on America's bully. You’d have to be from another planet to be in the dark about a man that is obsessed over by every media outlet 24/7 for the past 10 years. Yet I commonly heard people say that his experience as a strong businessman was one reason they trusted him more on the economy-even though his history shows the exact opposite. Don't get me wrong, I think people voted for him because a lot of people like that he's cruel, but they don't seem to know just how much of a failure he has been. Being put on the Apprentice actually saved him from ruin.
IdahoBert
My son was greeted to this this morning at his warehouse job: ”This morning the first thing that one of my co-workers said to me was "we got our country back, pal!” Some people just have no filters. People who do have a normal degree of empathy or concern for others feelings would leave well enough alone and not rub it in. They would know better, but not hard-core MAGA supporters. So many lack that simple socialized discretion and they can't resist sticking in the knife and twisting it. It’s this intrinsic, gloating cruelty that’s so painful to witness. My son is always already worried about attacks on his trans brother and then these SOB’s have to mess with him at work.
Kacie
Well, we won't have to worry about the hispanic vote in 4 years. Again, I feel like this was a lack of planning and foresight on behalf of the Democrats. It was thought all along that Biden was just the gap one term president. But they had no plan, no heir apparent. Gotta say, was never a fan of Kamala as VP. Got too late a start with out a theme or a defining identity other than not Trump. They did a poor job of addressing the "Kamala wants to pay for prisoners sex changes" I don't know as though they addressed it at all? Same with the border. While most of what the Trump turds said are lies, because of the media, it has to be addressed. I thought the abortion thing was WAY overplayed. A big issue, yes. But they didn't address the economy in any meaningful way. People still are unaware the deficits rise under Rs and go down under Ds. Their marketing still sucks. But this has been years in the making. Once we lost the media, the emergence of the echo chamber social media, podcasts, Russian interference, couldn't put the toothpaste back in the tube. I don't think the Democrats can nominate anyone other than a younger white man next time. They need to start early and figure something out. Truthfully, I think once Trump dies, the movement starts to fade. I can't think of any young Republicans that anyone is fired up about. They even hate JD Vance. Hopefully there are still elections to be had.

Hongbit
I think everyone only saw positives from the idea of rallying more people to exercise their right to vote. Maybe this result is the flip side of the push to get people to vote that normally wouldn’t due to either no interest or no understanding of politics. This independent block wield enough power that they can tip the scales one way or another without really understanding what they are doing. In the four years Harris was VP she was invisible. I’m not blaming her for that but if the party thought she was going to carry the torch forward post Biden they sure didn’t prepare her for it. And yes, Biden’s short notice exit didn’t help. Additionally, and this never made sense, why did the party pick the least successful primary challenger in 2020 to be the VP candidate? She made zero traction on the campaign trail and bailed. So who thought bringing her in as VP was a smart choice? And then she does nothing for four years. You could make a legitimate argument that she was set up to fail. Like Trump or not, he was in office for four years. You didn’t have to wonder who he was, good or bad. Harris? No track record in the executive. Only in the past six months or so does it seem she began getting some ‘look busy’ assignments. I will always believe that Harris was an Obama pick, fwiw. Bad move on whoever was responsible. Edited November 6 by 1776
