Is CNN RW media now? Where can we get the truth you guys want to hear?

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/11/08/politics/fema-employee-trump-florida-hurricane

It wasn't a FEMA order. It was one misguided employee;

"The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident,” the spokesperson said."

Doing that to trump supporters is disqualifing but if you do that to blue states magalolic will vote for it

Just another its not tyranny when he likes it situation yet again

Bluesky is okay, it just feels a little too compartmentalized with the way the groups are. I do know that some of the urbanists I found on twitter are now on Mastodon, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Let me know if you join Bluesky.

I program computers for a living and i found Mastodon way too complicated to use.    I liked post.news but they closed up.   Im already anti zuck so no fb or threads or insta.

Bluesky on its "following" tab has no algorithm to serve up content so if you want the experience that the feed updates with new content quickly you need to follow a lot of people.

It is definitely very left leaning as well.    A few weeks ago the pod save dudes called it a bunch of gen x complaining about NYTimes headlines and frankly that seems accurate LOL but that happens here tons too

Twitter was pretty established by the time I joined so that may be why I was able to find content pretty quickly. And it'll take Bluesky a while, since a lot of people are so settled in at twitter.

And somewhat off topic, why is Mush using an X that's way too much like the one Xfinity uses?

I haven't tried threads. I'm only on FB because I have several groups on there and friends with common interests that I'm unlikely to interact with in real life or on another forum. And I'm not a fan of Zuckerberg either. Hopefully Bluesky will take off.

NC was committed to staying in the union until Lincoln demanded 75,000 troops from the southern states to be a part of putting down “the southern insurrection.” Our governor, John Willis Ellis called for the convention and the rest is history.

The Confederate governor was your governor?

Yikes.

The idea that this federal government conspired to withhold aid from people for political purposes is demonstrably true, of course, but the ore important takeaway is that this tale will serve as justification for when the Trump government actually does withhold aid from various places because they are disloyal to him, or insufficiently loyal to him, or voted fro Kamala in this election. It will happen, because he already tried to make it happen in the past, and he’s already said he will do it in the future.

From the secession convention to the end of the war North Carolina had three different governors. History is very interesting. Years ago I stumbled into a history class on the Civil War. It more than piqued my interest in history, particularly in North Carolina. Through years of family research I discovered that numerous ancestors of mine fought for NC in the war and several for the Union.

So to answer your question, yes, the three NC Governors through that period were our governors. Just like Trump is your president. 😉

Was our President, and might be again, but not for a couple months. Between obesity, a fatwa, and cognitive decline, that still isn't a guarantee.

I wouldn't be surprised if he lives until at least 100. He reminds me of that mean, spiteful uncle who just refuses to go away.

Exactly.    Its not tyranny when they do it, in fact posters come here and brag about voting for that.

The hypocrisy is astounding

It’s called damage control. Amazing, someone does actual journalism and the room sticks its head further down a hole. Hoping better journalism can be found elsewhere.

So, I'm thinking that's it for X/Twitter for me.  I used to prolifically post from there but, its too stinky with Elon's thanos ambitions.   I'll try Threads out.

I'm also making a list of other services to no longer use... I think it's easy enough to not buy from Tesla, lol. But Bezos owns and/or runs a whole list of companies (not just Prime but Whole Foods, Grubhub, Uber, etc).

I know that my not buying from them won't change his world, but at least I won't add to it.

I would NEVER wish bad on any person. But I would be very open to an alternative to a Trump or Harris. The media spent four years being obsessed with Trump’s every move and every word. It feels like he never went away. So now we’re going into yet another four year grind of non stop partisan rancor, 24/7.

CNN hosted the first debate and decided the best thing to do was not fact check.   And announce in advance they would not.

Hilarious that a RW poster expects everyone to venerate CNN after 8 years of RW trashing of CNN.

Which is just more hypocrisy
