Lindsey Graham's the new AG nominee?

Can't be serious? In the universe of possible Trump world options, Lindsay would be a shot out of the park. Came through the JAG office - actually practiced law in the public service.

He'd probably get himself fired in 8 wks.

Can't help but think the Jake Paul v Tyson thing, and the inability to actually watch the damn thing, is a metaphor for what's to come. Especially given they are both Trumpers

I was thinking the same thing. It's fitting that a convicted rapist like Tyson would support Trump.

Has E-Loan Munch told us yet what he's going to cut with his $2 trillion in federal government cuts?

Perhaps he should be called Apartheid Elon?

If we're still doing election autopsies, this is about a good as anything else out there

Quote

Black women have long had to navigate being twice as good to get half the amount of credit. Kamala Harris’s presidential run was evidence of this.

Despite the stark difference in the tenor of each candidate’s campaign and the the quality of their policy proposals, many still questioned whether they could trust Harris's leadership and opted for her opponent. Ultimately, an overwhelming majority of white voters voted Republican.

National exit polls showed that for white voters, their choice was largely a product educational attainment. Fifty-seven percent of college-educated white women voted for Harris, while 63 percent of non-college white women voted for Donald Trump. For white men, regardless of educational level, a majority voted for Trump. Contrast that with the 77 percent of Black men and 91 percent of Black women who voted for Kamala Harris.

The majority of the Black electorate, regardless of educational level, voted for Harris. But it wasn’t enough. The outcome reminded me of the Glass Cliff and the double standards for Black leaders that come along with it.

Quote

The Glass Cliff refers to situations where women from marginalized groups are promoted into leadership during times of crisis and/or when the risk of failure is high. For example, back in 2021, Yogananda Pittman became the first Black person and first woman to lead the Capitol Police as it faced criticism for its handling of January 6. Minorities and women getting promotions often face impossible circumstances. And if they succeed, the person who gave them the opportunity gets credit.

When Biden dropped out of the race in July, he left Kamala Harris with a challenge that no modern presidential candidate has faced. Biden was losing in the polls, Democrats were divided over his presidency and refusal to get out of the race earlier, and Harris had to compete against a man who not only had been running for president for years, but is also a seasoned purveyor of racism and sexism.

While pundits have busied themselves over the past 10 days nitpicking Harris’s campaign, one thing is abundantly clear: She was held to the highest standards of leadership while Trump was held to no standard at all. Where Harris was pressed to present concrete, detailed policy stances, Trump skated by with crude bigotry and mere “concepts of plans”.

Once again for emphasis

While pundits have busied themselves over the past 10 days nitpicking Harris’s campaign, one thing is abundantly clear: She was held to the highest standards of leadership while Trump was held to no standard at all.

There's a new population that didn't know Donny Trump was a bald faced liar? And now they're upset he lied? Welcome to the club, there will be many more coming to that realization in the coming months;

We all knew this was coming and they'd be in for a rude awakening.

A lot of people tried to tell them, but they wouldn't listen-and it's hard to believe they weren't aware of the positions of his supporters, who have been anti-Muslim for decades.

Next up...seniors who were told no more taxes on their social security. Then we'll have waitresses who rely on tips to make (almost) a living wage. Keep paying those taxes, suckers, billionaires need new yachts.

Had somebody tell me last night Project 2025 isn't a thing because Trump said so... also implied I was gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) because I've been so outspoken on FB the last couple weeks about how terrible this was.

There are already people who have relatives here illegally, who are realizing that those relatives won't be exempt just because 'they're here to work, not commit crimes.' And there will be more of them later.

What's even worse? Some of them did interviews on why they voted for T, and told about these relatives. Nice job-you just outed the people you claim to love.

This is more fear mongering.  You don’t know that Trump won’t remove the tax on SS and tipping.  He said he would and this is a big thing for a lot of people so I think he will try to get it done.  If it doesn’t happen it will be more likely that he tried to get it passed and democrats voted it down or able to stop it.
