Edman85 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Point being, you don't need to be in the bottom six to be eligible for the draft lottery. Every team that makes the playoffs is eligible. Quote

apabruce Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 With 1 game left, the Tigers are in 6th position pre-lottery. If they end up 6th, their percentage chance for the number 1 pick is 7.5 percent. If Texas loses to the Yankees and the Tigers win, the Tigers will move to 7th position and a 5.5 percent chance at number 1. Quote
apabruce Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 So, the Tigers are pre-lottery 6th. Here's an article from Jonathon Mayo. https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-mlb-draft-lottery-odds?t=mlb-draft-coverage Quote
SoCalTiger Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 So we have a 7.5 % chance at number 1 but what is the chance we will draft lower than 6 ? Thats the number to bet ! Quote
Edman85 Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Baseball America revealed that the competitive balance rounds will be ordered by winning percentage now. This means the Mariners, if they still get one, get the first pick in the Tigers round. The Tigers would get the 6th, and the A's get the 8th and final. Quote

Tenacious D Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 I like any of the three top college bats. Dollander looks great, too, but selecting a pitcher that high makes me nervous. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Jacob Gonzalez was a guy that really intrigued me when I was looking at potential guys last spring. Of course at that time I was more focused on guys that seemed pretty advanced and could help out sooner rather than later since I thought we were at the point of competing but now it feels like that isn't the case and it isn't as imperative to get an mlb ready guy.
