don't see how they sign all HS guys, but that's another 42K to play with

I think Max Anderson is probably the key guy.... if he goes a decent amount underslot, I think they can get them all, or nearly all of them anyway.

I highly doubt they sign them all (they pretty much came out and said that was being overly optimistic.) If they sign 18+ of the 21 drafted I will be happy.

Yawn. Could he throw them all at the same time for strikes?

He couldn't even throw one for a strike early in his career.  He was a better pitcher after 30 than before 30.

They may just be expectation setting in the event that something doesn't work out.

I just think if they bring in Anderson for closer to $1 mil versus $1.9 (his slot value), along with the fact that there are probably a couple of other underslot candidates mixed in, they can make up some decent ground in all likelihood. Some of it will depend on what McGonigle gets as well.

Some of the under slot guys HAVE to be signed already, just not reported. You can't sign the over slot guys first just in case everybody is hit by a bus and your denominator is thrown off.

Agreed, whatever they get Anderson at will really decide some things. Looking at things though, we know Clark got appx. 700K less than slot, Hamm 42K, and the JUCO catcher got 250K of that. So going down the list say Anderson took 1M (bank 900K), Lee takes 200K(bank 145K),  Minton and Sears take 100K each ( bank 150K) that gives you appx 1.6 mil to throw around. You may be able to get Minton for less because is he an SR signing. Will be an interesting 11 days.

Lee, Sears and Minton strike me as being underslot guys.... the Day 3 High Schoolers, like Andrew Dunford or Ethan Farris, seem like the challenge to me. Can they cover all those guys plus McGonigle with the money leftover?

Ed is probably right that they probably have a good idea of that answer already based on having contracts in place that we don't know about.

Paul Wilson seems like an over slot to me. Hoping for the top 5 , Dunford and Diaz included in the signings

some psychological value to $1M even and that would only be 55k more. gotta sign 3rd round pick

We know Hamm is under slot. I'd bet the others are as well. As a said, get your under slot guys signed first so you know how much you have to work with, and in case everybody is hit by a bus so you aren't over 105%.

Max Anderson probably got close to slot.

MLB Pipeline disagrees.

2 (45): Max Anderson, 2B, Nebraska -- (Pick value: $1,906,200)

Anderson has signed for an undisclosed bonus, believed to be under slot. “I was just looking for a team to give me a shot, really,” he said on a call with reporters. “I mean, money wasn’t really a question for me, in all honesty. I’m a baseball player; I’ve got an advisor to worry about the money side.”
