RatkoVarda Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) how can people look at this and not fire someone? maybe the better question is, how can people look at this? Edited August 5, 2022 by RatkoVarda Quote

Jim Cowan Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Tigers have driven RHP Derek Law 200 miles out into the wilderness and left him there. Quote

I have not watch a second in 3 weeks now. I was only hate-watching anyway Is it me or does it feel like A.J. is phoning it in? Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 If AJ implemented a cheating scheme like Houston's they'd still suck. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Even more damning than just leading the league in errors is realizing he missed 2 weeks of the season. Quote

I don't believe he actually walked a batter. Maybe he can start off next time by walking the bases loaded. Edited August 5, 2022 by lordstanley Quote

His only purpose is to hit and he doesn't do that well enough to hold a roster spot for him if he's physically unavailable. I understand there aren't many bats on the 40 to call up to replace him, but they're limiting their bench opportunities. This is a chance to bring someone up and give them a look to determine if they're worthy of consideration for 2023. Its completely asinine and irresponsible roster management. 1 Quote
romad1 Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 I'm ok with Miggy getting these ABs this garbage season but he can't continue hold a premier spot in the batting order if we are really trying to win. Perhaps however, the Tigers are in the business of providing fodder for the gambling interests and sales of nostalgia for times when they had better leadership Quote

His comments yesterday suggest to me a realization that this may not be getting better. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) I def think hed take a buyout but the question is how much would it take? Would he take 20 which would leave 11 million on the table for him? If he is as broken down as he seems I think giving up 11 million would be a small price to pay for not having to suffer through another season. Edited August 5, 2022 by RandyMarsh Quote
mtutiger Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Wouldn't even know where to begin in coming up with a fair buyout. My gut tells me something like half of his remaining salary. But idk Quote
casimir Posted August 5, 2022 Author Posted August 5, 2022 I thought the players' union was against buy outs? Quote
Hongbit Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 The Tigers have to pay him the money and he’s going to happily take it. Whether he plays next year or not is a decision that both sides can make in the off-season. Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 I think think this is it for Miggy. He has nothing more to prove. Quote
