romad1 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 the topper will be when Paredes goes yard and Austin Meadows is lobotomized on the same day for nerves Quote

Tigermojo Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Tampa will probably have a position player pitch the ninth Quote

Tigermojo Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 This is what happens when you give mediocre guys the closer role. It's not a save situation so I'll just go ahead and walk everyone. Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) Kerry Carpenter is going to make it from Toledo by the end of the game and his two grand slams for the walk off. Book it. Edited August 7, 2022 by Tigerbomb13 1 Quote
kdog Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 At this point, the results don’t matter. Manning had the best outing of his career. The offense sucks and Soto imploded in a non save situation. But they have to use him because the bullpen is overtaxed. Good bullpens are a waste on a horrific team. Avila thinks he can get more value for them at a later point in time. 1 Quote
RatkoVarda Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Baltimore is 5 games over .500; this team is garbage Quote

The uproar will be deafening if he’s still the GM by Halloween. Quote
romad1 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Hey, hey. Ho, ho. Al Avila is mediocre at his job and is destroying a proud franchise! Quote
Dtrain72 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Soto making the allstar team just shows that nobody has really watched the Tigers this year...both him and Fulmer have been no where near as good as ppl seem think. The eye test/results dont lie. Quote
kdog Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Al is not surviving. The question is if they go outside the org to find a replacement. Quote

Even though he had a rough game a couple nights ago, I was shocked at how good his numbers are (I hadn’t been laying close attention). Exhibit #754367 on why the save stat is dumb and antiquated. Sports_Freak Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I remember Leyland saying once that if you keep marching pitchers out there, eventually one will have an off-day and give up multiple runs. He was/is correct. Quote
