At this point, the results don’t matter. Manning had the best outing of his career. The offense sucks and Soto imploded in a non save situation. But they have to use him because the bullpen is overtaxed.
Good bullpens are a waste on a horrific team. Avila thinks he can get more value for them at a later point in time.

As much as the result sucks, this is definitely the silver lining to take away from this one.

Baltimore is 5 games over .500; this team is garbage

We all still have to see it to believe it, but I really don't know how Al survives beyond this year. It seems really unsustainable to me.

I would also feel better to hear that Hinch threw a chair at Soto in the locker room after the game

I agree. I know we all talk about how awful Pizza Jr. is, but even Matt Millen didn’t last forever. The uproar will be deafening if he’s still the GM by Halloween.

Soto making the allstar team just shows that nobody has really watched the Tigers this year...both him and Fulmer have been no where near as good as ppl seem think.  The eye test/results dont lie.

Chafin should have been the selection. Lange's BB/9 is a little high, but tbh, he probably should have been in front of Soto as well.

Even Jimenez. Even though he had a rough game a couple nights ago, I was shocked at how good his numbers are (I hadn’t been laying close attention).

Exhibit #754367 on why the save stat is dumb and antiquated.

This is what happens when you give mediocre guys the closer role. It's not a save situation so I'll just go ahead and walk everyone.

But...but....he throws really, really hard. He doesn't pitch, he throws. Really hard.
