RandyMarsh Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 I really haven't been paying that close attention to individual stats of late but boy did Schoop and Hasse's power numbers fall off a cliff the past couple months. It feels like they had 21 and 23 HRs back in late July and early August and they're still there now. Quote

Schoop went almost an entire month without hitting a homer and when he did the dugout jokingly gave him the silent treatment. Quote

I couldn't really tell from the video what he had done that set Jose off. Visually it just looked like Niko was backing away and it wasn't clear he had said anything. In fact at first I thought Abreu might have been mad because Niko groined him with the tag, but on replay that didn't appear to be the case either. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Last three games of the season against the White Sox in Chicago. I’m not interested in any heroics that get players hurt that I want to see play next year. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 31 pitches for Alexander in the 1st. oof. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 another near-homer down the line for Paredes. plenty of distance but just foul. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 The Tigers are putting up zeros again. What the hell is that all about? Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 In all honesty if the season ended a week ago I would’ve been totally fine with that. I’m feeling kind of spent on it. It’s like the last course of a big meal and it’s a dessert wine I’m disinterested in. They gave me a lot of joy this year. Lots of excitement lots of unexpected things and a lot to look forward to. I’m done but they’re not. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Paredes gets this inning's Tiger double. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 I feel like the guy that runs for mayor in New York City and always says “the rent is too damn high.“ The season is too damn long. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 nice finish by Alexander. time for some runs, dummies! Quote
gehringer_2 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Cabrera now with 26 hits in 21 games in Sept, good for a 347 BA. He got to this form just a couple of weeks too late to get to 3000 this season. 2 Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Tigers almost threaten and of course do not score. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) oh, Alexander is back. didn't expect that. ah, the Dans think it might be just for one batter, to force Polanco to bat RH. edit: nope, staying in. ok. Edited September 29, 2021 by Crazy Cat Gentleman Quote

Grooming him to take over Boyd's spot to start next year. 5th starter until at least July-ish... Quote
Jim Cowan Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 I like Alexander. He feels like a throwback, a lefty whose fastball tops at 89 and who throws offspeed crap all day. He is a nice contrast to the max effort flamethrowers and I want to reserve the number 4 spot in the rotation for him. He is the sort of guy about whom they used to say "He screws up your timing for a week". 2 Quote
