Honestly, the networks would drool over Michigan in the CFP. Blue state football has only one likely champion so long as the PAC12 continues to grind away in irrelevance. Quote

romad1 Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 One thing as a guy who knows the pain of crushed hopes as a sports fan am I going to woof about things my team can't change without winning out. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Just thinking and I figured that it Really doesn't matter if we lose 1 of the next 3 games or not as long as we beat OSU and win the Big Championship we're going to be in the playoff whether we're undefeated or have 1 loss. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 What outcome should we be pulling for in today's Vols/UGA game? Quote
Hongbit Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 54 minutes ago, RandyMarsh said: What outcome should we be pulling for in today's Vols/UGA game? I’d guess Georgia. Their schedule the rest of the way seems light. If they lose today, they will probably end with just that loss and still make it. It may be an easier road to the playoff for the Dawgs with a loss today since they’d miss the SEC champ. Tennessee is new I this role and has a tougher schedule. Two factors that make them seem more likely to possibly lose again after today and be eliminated with 2 losses. A blowout either way will help though. Quote
Hongbit Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 3 guys on ESPN Gameday just said Georgia is out if they lose today. No way. They would need help but are very much still in the mix even with a loss. These guys believe more in TCU and Clemson than I do. Quote

Definitely not out but I think they could be in some trouble and would need some help. I figure they would need both TCU and Clemson to lose and UT to beat Bama in the SEC Championship game. Otherwise you gotta think it will be OSU or UM, Bama, with the final two spots either going to TCU and Clemson if they run the table or if only 1 does then that team with Tennessee being the "at large" team. There's also the chance that if UM wins a close one against OSU that the committee may have a 1 loss OSU team over the hypothetical 1 loss UGA team as well. Quote
Hongbit Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I should’ve listed Bama in my list of teams they believe in more than I do. I think Saban loses at least once more but at the same time wouldn’t be shocked to see them clean it up and finish up looking like a contender. How Oregon finishes will play a big role in this thing too. If they run the table, it will make it really hard to leave out a 1 loss Georgia who curbstomped them. Quote

Didn't realize Bama has such a brutal schedule left with 15 LSU, 11 Ole Miss and although Auburn isn't good this year it's still a rivalry game so it could be tough not to mention the hypothetical SEC Championship game so definitely wouldn't be surprised to see them lose another 1. FWIW just ran ESPN Playoff predictor and according to that if UGA loses today and wins out they would still have a 52% chance of making the playoffs. Quote

romad1 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 OSU can't run into the wind either. NW defense just stuffed them on 4-1 at the OSU(!) 40. Quote

lordstanley Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I was wondering when was the last time OSU punted on four straight possessions. They avoided that by going for it on 4th down …and getting stopped Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 The weather is only getting worse, and Ohio State is punting the ball back late in the 2nd... If Northwestern can score another, this game may be interesting. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Stroud on the day is 6/16 for 46 yards. Quote
