MahornMeanMug23 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I wanted to share this because I thought it was cool and would be a nice piece of nostalgia for all The Bad Boys fans. I grew up reading The Franchise by Cameron Stauth which is an insider's look at Chuck Daly and the Pistons' first title in '88-'89 as seen through the eyes of GM Jack McCloskey. It follows them from training camp up in Ontario all the way to the parade in Motown and the brutal news that Rick Mahorn was going to Minnesota as part of the expansion draft. The stories in this book are second to none: Zeke's relationship with McCloskey, his lifelong friendship with Mark Aguirre, "The Trade" that brought the missing piece, Aguirre, to Motown for Adrian Dantley, the Jordan Bulls and the end of the Doug Collins era, Red Auerbach and his hatred for the Pistons. Anyway, I'm 38 now and I listen to more audiobooks than actually read physical copies and I was excited to see that this had been made into an Audible audiobook back in May. I'm currently about halfway through the listen and am enjoying it all over again: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Franchise-Audiobook/B0B1VQD5KH Hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Bad Boys, Bad Boys!! 1 Quote
