They announced that record right after his 2nd TD and all he did was a little shoulder wiggle.  The WR group was directly in front of us.

Just getting to watch the recording and remembered that when Goff missed Chark on that deep ball at the end of the 1st half Ben Johnson let out the loudest F bomb.

Goff is doing what he needs to do for this team to be successful.  Before the season, I thought he just needed to be slightly above average around the 12th or 13th best in the league.    He’s been doing that and maybe even a little more.

Yesterday was a great example of what he can be.  Nobody questions the arm strength.  He made some big time throws into tight windows and was smart with the football.  He’s not mobile but he was good in the pocket and didn’t get happy feet.  Most importantly he’s making smart decisions. The challenge for him is not being quite consistent enough and missing some hard throws that the better guys make.   Still, he’s been almost night and day from where he was at to begin last season.

His biggest weakness has been the deep ball and that was on display again yesterday.  He’s just not very accurate on those 45+ yard bombs. The reality is this isn’t a high percentage play in the first place. If you had to pick a weakness this one may be preferable.  It’s easy to game plan around without taking away from the offense.   He hasn’t proven himself as the future guy yet but he’s on his way to doing that if he can keep this up.  He’s got the weapons around him now that’s for sure.

If we keep playing like this offensively and putting up this level of production, dare I ask . . . why can't we make the playoffs? We have one of the best offenses in the league right now with 2 top 20 playmakers in Swift and St. Brown. Add onto that, Goff hasn't been turning the ball over a ton, at least early on in the season. Then we get Jameson Williams back on top of this. This team as it stands right now can hang with Green Bay and Minnesota for sure in division and should be able to score wins against teams like the Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots that they play later on. Why can't we consider this team an on the graphic, late season playoff contender?

Also, Goff has 17 TDs and 2 INTs in his last 7 games. I know the competition hasn't been great but....damn.

Stafford has 5 INTs already this year.

We should see if the Rams want to trade QBs and if they'll throw in some first rounds picks with their QB seeing as how ours is better.

I don't want to get too ahead of ourselves... it was a solid win, but:

1. There were still times when the offense and defense looks bad.
2. The Commanders aren't a great team.

So I think it's early to starting printing the playoff tickets.  Vikings will be a big test.  if we win there next week... I might say we need to fire up the printer.

I'm still sticking with 6 wins for the season.

The Commanders are not a great team but the Eagles are considered favorites to win their division and have a shot at winning the NFC. Our offense looked damn good against a team we think will still be good come season's end. I get not wanting to get ahead of ourselves, lord knows this team has started off hot and fallen apart to close the season. We stared 2013 I believe 6-3 and then lost 6 of 7 to close out the season under Schwartz.

Offense wins championships and this year's NFC is downright terrible. With a team that is is top 5 in the league in scoring, if they keep up a pace even close to this, there is no reason we can't be in the conversation for the playoffs. Even if the defense is as bad as advertised at times, with the expanded playoff format, this offense could potentially carry this team into the playoffs.

As someone who said this team would go 9-8 and make the playoffs as a wildcard... I too would caution against getting too far ahead of ourselves.

The NFL is a damn hard league to win in. You have to take it one game at a time. If our offense consistently plays like it has the first two games all season, and our defense consistently plays like it did in the first half yesterday, we will likely win the NFC North, and maybe even compete to win a playoff game. I don't think that's very likely though, at least this year.

Could I envision a scenario right now where the stars align, the Lions start getting everyone back at the perfect time, a few breaks finally go our way, and they make a run similar to the Bengals last year? I could.... I could also envision a scenario where this injury bug that is plaguing our team continues to rear its head, to the point where we start to struggle at powering through.

We have the youngest roster in the NFL. We are likely going to make some bone-headed mistakes, lose some games we could have won, and make us fans pull our hair out at times. That doesn't mean we aren't still trending in a really good direction.

Right now, we have to focus on Minnesota. I don't think they're very good, and the -7.5 spread we are seeing is a complete overreaction based on their one victory over a Packers team that is still figuring things out offensively. If you can figure out a way to contain Jefferson while limiting the run, you'll neuter their offense. We should learn something about both them and us when they play Philadelphia tonight.

Its been a weird two games. They put up a boatload of points, but still hard not to feel like the offense could have been so much better. And at the same time feel like the offense sometimes looks so completely dead you can't imaging how they'll ever score again.

It’s weird to have talent on paper and actually see it perform on the field.  The offense has 2 stud playmakers, a legit OLine and whatever you make of Hock.  There is some serious potential.  Goff is not an elite QB.  While he’s played nicely so far, he is going to miss his share of throws that better QB’s convert.   The key is having these mistakes end up as drive ending punts and not silly interceptions
