gehringer_2 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Things getting progressively murkier. Reports that Wagner HQ in multiple places have been 'raided' by interior police. Meanwhile Prigozhin is in Rostov making nice with generals that were calling for him to stand down a few hours ago. Quote

I have no idea whether or not Wagner has the muscle to actually stare down the Russian military in some sort of civil war, I'll leave that to the experts. But I do think, from a leadership standpoint, this really demonstrates what a fatal flaw it is to have to rely so heavily on a paramilitary force to carry out state actions. Eventually, maybe they can turn on you, especially if they aren't appreciative of the direction you are giving Quote

romad1 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) I wonder if this coup was the fault of the Hollywood pedophile ring that I am hearing so much about from the MAGAs and Qs? Edited June 24, 2023 by romad1 Quote

Putin is finding out there is a down side to beating your nation into passiivity. He produced a nation where no-one cared to oppose him, in the same nation no-one will care to save him. Putin is apparently now waiting for Kadyrov to save his butt. 4 hours ago, mtutiger said: But I do think, from a leadership standpoint, this really demonstrates what a fatal flaw it is to have to rely so heavily on a paramilitary force to carry out state actions. Yup. Creating free lance armies is pretty much State Suicide 101. Or, as Gandalf would say: "A Treacherous Weapon is ever a danger to the hand." Edited June 24, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
romad1 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Has the former US President who was impeached for trying to get Ukraine drop dirt on Joe Biden and who had his campaign manager actively working with Russia weighed in on this? Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) This moring Putin had to address his people on state TV to plead that they resist a military revolt in his army. Who had that on their bingo card 15mo ago? Edited June 24, 2023 by gehringer_2 Quote
romad1 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Has anyone interviewed Paul Manafort about these developments? Quote

gehringer_2 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Russian State forces fortifying entrance routes to Moscow. Sounds like this so far relatively bloodless rebellion is not going to be bloodless for too much longer. Quote
romad1 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 The concern now, is that Putin will activate his 5th column in the United States and we will have armed gangs roving the streets of various places where the org that used to be Blackwater (you really have to have a chart to map all of those rebrandings) are located. Jim Cowan Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Remember King Louis' forces being sent out to face Napoleon? They wouldn't fight him. And then they turned around and joined him. 1 Quote
smr-nj Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Am I wrong to be even more worried that Yevgeny replacing Putin is a “crazier trumps crazy” situation? 1 Quote
