I'm weak on military terminology, never having served.  Is that an "ass-kicking"?

What's COMICAL about DPS's meme'd diatribes against losing western equipment is that nearly ALL of it (95-ish% ?) survives Russian attacks, and is currently being repaired in Poland, western Ukraine, Slovakia, and Romania... and being PUT BACK INTO SERVICE.

Oh, and it has saved thousands of Ukrainian servicemen's lives too... Yeah, that's important.

But... someone so bent on Pro-Russian Propaganda usually doesn't even know this because they are too hell-bent on spewing Putin's Propaganda. Which I find despicable. Either that... or it's even with the knowledge that they are spewing lies, or half-truths, or just don't care that the messaging is full of ****.

The telegraph is a openly pro-Ukraine news sources that has a pro-Ukraine propaganda podcast. Oh dear....

Ukraine’s counter-offensive is failing, with no easy fixes

Quote

Ukraine is already outnumbered in every military capability. Its dire shortage of armoured vehicles means that Kyiv is approaching this counter-offensive with immense caution. Many Nato-supplied tanks and infantry fighting vehicles were knocked out during early probing attacks and they are consequently holding most of the rest of these assets back to avoid too many more losses.

If you’re going to contest Russia in the air, you’re going to need a substantial amount of fourth and fifth generation fighters.” We must recognise two things: this is not possible in the present context, and air power is not a magic bullet anyway

Ultimately, the possibility of a Ukrainian recovery comes down to its ability to complete frontal assaults.

WSJ: The West Knew Ukraine Wasn't Prepared For Counter-Offensive, Hoped Their 'Courage And Resourcefulness Would Carry The Day'

Meat Grinder!!

Quote

The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday that Western officials knew Ukrainian forces didn't have enough training or equipment for their counteroffensive but hoped they would be able to break through anyway.

The report reads: "When Ukraine launched its big counteroffensive this spring, Western military officials knew Kyiv didn't have all the training or weapons--from shells to warplanes--that it needed to dislodge Russian forces. But they hoped Ukrainian courage and resourcefulness would carry the day. They Haven't."

US officials speaking to The New York Times and The Washington Post have blamed the lack of success on Ukraine, saying Ukrainian forces are not using the "combined arms" tactics they learned from NATO countries.

Reports of major Ukraine offensive near orikhiv. Pictures of new destroyed Bradleys and tanks on telegram.
Apparently Ukraine committing a Western trained and armed brigade. No major breakthrough being reported. Marginal gains of meters according to Ukraine sources. Russians sources stating all their positions held.

More western provided materials seen on way to the front there.

Even if there is a breakthrough here, and so far there hasn’t. Ukraine would have to deal with main Russian line north of Tomak.

the thing about mine fields is that once your enemy makes a path through, you then lose a lot of manuever space yourself lest you you get pinned in place by your own mines.

Good point.   I think Ukraine would rather not have to go through those mine belts nevertheless.

Ukraine spent a lot of time taking out the artillery systems that would oppose them.  Russia is going hat (and dignity) in hand to North Korea to get more artillery rounds and its only going to go so far.

Its an interesting time and place.  Do precision strike weapons, area and air denial weapons rule the battlefield or does Ukraine's lack of offensive air power mean we really can't draw any conclusions?
