What will actually, likely, end up happening? Will he sell out Ukraine and demand they surrender territory to Russia? Will he stop arms sales to them and claim that as a victory? Will the war just drag on as normal and Trump will look foolish for talking about how he can end the wars in a day? Expand I think it just falls off the radar and nothing more comes of it on our side. Russia will pummel Ukraine’s into eventual submission half the media will completely ignore it, while the other half will be excoriated for trying to keep the “Biden crime family” propped up. Whenever Putin rolls into other non-Western places like Georgia or Azerbaijan or Uzbekistan, it won’t be our concern. After that it’s a short step to get the other ex-republics in the fold, especially with help from North Korean and possibly Chinese troops. Speaking of which, when China invades Taiwan, I think the most likely outcome will be Trump will make a deal that will pay him and his actual crime family off to keep us from intervening. So, the clock is now ticking and the alarm is set for pre-2028. Edited November 8, 2024 by chasfh Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) Has anyone followed this story? It turns out a several right wing media influencers were on the Russian payroll. Members of Tenet Media, including Benny Johnson, Julie Chen, Lauren Southern, Dave Rubin, and Tim Pool were taking millions of dollars in sum total from individuals affiliated with Russia Today and the Russian government lead by Vladimir Putin. JUST LOL that Rubin and Pool, the "free thinkers" and "truth tellers" of the interwebs were telling us for years how Ukraine was the real enemy and Russia was our friend. Now that they're in legal hot water the truth comes out that these clowns were paid to have an opinion and potentially directly told what to say and thing. What a bunch of Russian hacks. 1776 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Interesting read: WSJ Going to war is now a rational economic choice in Russia’s impoverished hinterlands. Facing heavy losses in Ukraine, Russia is offering high salaries and bonuses to entice new recruits. In some of the country’s poorest regions, a military wage is as much as five times the average. The families of those who die on the front lines receive large compensation payments from the government. These are life-changing sums for those left behind. Russian economist Vladislav Inozemtsev calculates that the family of a 35-year-old man who fights for a year and is then killed on the battlefield would receive around 14.5 million rubles, equivalent to $150,000, from his soldier’s salary and death compensation. That is more than he would have earned cumulatively working as a civilian until the age of 60 in some regions. Families are eligible for other bonuses and insurance payouts, too. “Going to the front and being killed a year later is economically more profitable than a man’s further life,” Inozemtsev said, a phenomenon he calls “deathonomics.” Quote
