Like the rest of them, Hutch did not seem to have been coached to know what to do with the rollouts. Seattle must have run that thirty times.

When Hutch played at UM they had linebackers.

The only thing that makes me believe the Lions have a chance is the guy coaching the other team's offense next week.  He's a bum and a moron and that gives us a chance.  The Pats suck

They just took the Pavkers to OT in Green Bay. Yes, they're using a rookie QB but he has a week to practice. This game has loss written all over it.

until they can make the other team punt, every game has loss written all over it.

not really.  michigan's linebackers sucked.

when hutch played at michigan he was going up against big ten left tackles, not nfl left tackles.

the seahawks outsmarted the lions on defense.  they made great play calls and made glenn look stupid all day.

There are two explanations for what we saw, that is one, the other is that the Lions didn't have the personel to match up to what Seattle was doing without leaving worse vulnerability somewhere else. Even if that was the case, you can argue they mis-judged the relative risks, which is still bad enough, but it seems doubtful to me the Lions staff didn't understand what Seattle was doing to them well enough.

their personnel isnt good, but they were outcoached.  seattle ran perfect plays against the lions over and over again.  the lions blitz, and seattle runs a perfect run play.  over and over.

glenn got abused.  yes the lions arr still talent deficient, but seattle's offense is one of the worst in the league.  they scored more points today than they have in their three previous games combined.

it was embarassing.  an organizational embarassment.

the indignity of getting rolled by a MATT PATRICIA led offense with a rookie 4th round qb might just be enough to get aaron glenn sent upstairs.

By who?  Campbell isn’t going to do it and Holmes isn’t going to force him.   Maybe in a few seasons where there may be some heat on both but don’t see it now.

he did it to anthony lynn, there's no reason to think he wont do it to glenn too.

the difference may be that they had someone waiting in the wings to replace lynn (the current oc), whereas they may not have that person on defense.

Good to see present and future Lions QB doing well.

Like I said in the other thread, if they sign Lamar Jackson, let’s hope he can play safety.

And maybe we don’t need Jaymo on offense. Can he play corner opposite Jeff Okudah?

Sure felt like more than 30!  Every time it went for 8 yards or more.

Also, isn't this exactly why Spielman was hired? To tell Sheila when it's time to fire someone like Glenn. For the record, I don't think it will happen in season since there just aren't options currently on the staff and the defensive talent is not good.

Anzalone is a huge liability and he played 100%.   Joseph in his first ever action 100%.  AO was arguably worse than last week and was headed towards 100% before getting injured late.   Brockers getting 30 snaps is way too many.   Julian Okwara and Bryant barely getting on the field is telling as well.  Melifonwu was active but got zero snaps.

We've reached conspiracy theory territory that Holmes and Campbell won't fire Glenn because he's their boy.

There’s no conspiracy theory.  They aren’t going to do it 4 games into season 2 of a total rebuild.   Nobody is on the hot seat yet.

Dude, can you promise me that there will be someone else in the house when you watch next weeks game?  If the Lions lay and egg defensively like this did yesterday I'm going to be worried about you.

I joked that Campbell would start calling the defense, but I suspect he will spend all week in defensive meeting rooms. They won’t fire Glenn, but they may shuffle coaching responsibilities down the chain.

Some help and additional depth is coming to the defense after the bye week.   Jacobs, Paschal, Levi, Cominsky should all be back to at least practice and hopefully game ready.

Boy, I really hope Levi is as good as advertised. Brad Holmes thought so highly of him he wanted to trade back into the first round and go and get him. Let's hope he comes back quickly, shakes the rust off fast, and contributes ASAP.
