Checking in on the standings...

We're locked into the 10th spot, and... it looks nearly impossible to improve that draft spot, and a WHOLE lot easier to lose a couple draft spots...

So, early call looks like we're in the 10-12 drafting range this year with our pick...

Going to have to disagree with that and it feels like an odd label to give him. he plays a mean, grinding game against men at age 18 at 6'1'' and still hasn't been in a full NHL strength and conditioning program.  He's basically Larkin's size minus 10 pounds right now...  He was honestly touted as a "power" type forward coming out, Pronman's scouting report on him:

Feels like a bizarre judgment to make but maybe it is just me

I was talking about Tuyatyayev.

Cossa and Lethemon continue to backstop the  Walleye..they haven't lost since February 4th.  Lethemon has 1.99 GAA and .930 SV%. (Lethemon has a 19-1-3 record!)  Cossa had some early struggles but he's got the GAA down to 2.45 and the save % up to .913.

Next year's GR tandem?

Alexandre Doucet has been on an absolute tear since signing with Detroit.  He had another hat trick last night, his third hat trick in his last 7 games.

55 G, 50 A with 5 games left in the regular season

Pretty big honor, Marco Rossi is 21 and has 41 points in 42 games in the AHL

interesting...

how did edvinsson look yesterday?

I only watched about five minutes but saw him make a nice play but also take a stupid penalty haha.  I haven't really been able to watch the last three or so games sadly.  Hopefully someone else here has a good scouting report

wallinder contract signed.  coming to GR for the rest of the season.  imagine they might have him penciled in for detroit next year.  maybe at the halfway point next season?

reading between the lines on Lalonde's latest presser, sounds like Husso has a "sports hernia" (which BTW- is not a hernia). I guess we'll find out if there is a surgery announcement in the near future.

Lalonde described Husso's injury as "something that's been underlying probably for a couple years on him, which is very common for his position. I think it's just come to the forefront now.

mazur and wallinder in GR next year.  kasper too?

My assumption is that Kasper signs and comes over in the offseason to get ready to start in GR, he just returned home to focus on graduating high school which is kind of a wild thing to type out.

Uhh scratch that I guess what I read a couple days ago  is already outdated:

I guess he didn't come here to play school

i wonder if they would bring him right to detroit?  seems rather bold.

They called up Hirose on an emergency basis today so I guess there's a chance there could be a slot open for Marco if they're interested, I would imagine Grand Rapids is more likely but I have been pretty off on all my predictions lately 😂

I think Chiasson and Zadina are injured at some level but I have no clue how long term those are.

selfishly, i would love to see him with the big club, but i cant see that happening.  he's only 18.

then again, when steve yzerman was 18 he played 80 games and scored 39 goals...

I ended up paying $20 to be able to watch the rest of the Griffins games this season through AHL TV, should be interesting.

Mazur is one of the better Griffins so far I would say, skates well with the puck and has tried some creative passes.  They have him on both special teams already, he drew a penalty on a GR penalty kill to even it up at 4 on 4.  So far so good.
