1984Echoes Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Checking in on the standings... We're locked into the 10th spot, and... it looks nearly impossible to improve that draft spot, and a WHOLE lot easier to lose a couple draft spots... So, early call looks like we're in the 10-12 drafting range this year with our pick... Edited March 11, 2023 by 1984Echoes Quote

He's basically Larkin's size minus 10 pounds right now... He was honestly touted as a "power" type forward coming out, Pronman's scouting report on him: Feels like a bizarre judgment to make but maybe it is just me I was talking about Tuyatyayev. Quote
Shinzaki Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Cossa and Lethemon continue to backstop the Walleye..they haven't lost since February 4th. Lethemon has 1.99 GAA and .930 SV%. (Lethemon has a 19-1-3 record!) Cossa had some early struggles but he's got the GAA down to 2.45 and the save % up to .913. Next year's GR tandem? 2 Quote

slothfacekilla Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Alexandre Doucet has been on an absolute tear since signing with Detroit. He had another hat trick last night, his third hat trick in his last 7 games. 55 G, 50 A with 5 games left in the regular season Pretty big honor, Marco Rossi is 21 and has 41 points in 42 games in the AHL 1 Quote
Shinzaki Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Tyut got promoted to GR WALLEYE WIN 17th STRAIGHT!!! Cossa turns aside 21 of 23 in a 3-2 OT road win 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted March 19, 2023 Author Posted March 19, 2023 Wow I had left this kid for dead as a prospect, but I had been reading rumblings that he was looking really good defensively lately. His rights were going to expire in August Quote
buddha Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 interesting... how did edvinsson look yesterday? Quote

I only watched about five minutes but saw him make a nice play but also take a stupid penalty haha. I haven't really been able to watch the last three or so games sadly. Hopefully someone else here has a good scouting report Quote
buddha Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 rumors are that mastrisimone wont be offered a contract. too bad if true. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 A bit off topic, but here's Michigan snipe into the Frozen Four yesterday: Quote
buddha Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 wallinder contract signed. coming to GR for the rest of the season. imagine they might have him penciled in for detroit next year. maybe at the halfway point next season? Quote
gehringer_2 Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 (edited) reading between the lines on Lalonde's latest presser, sounds like Husso has a "sports hernia" (which BTW- is not a hernia). I guess we'll find out if there is a surgery announcement in the near future. Quote Lalonde described Husso's injury as "something that's been underlying probably for a couple years on him, which is very common for his position. I think it's just come to the forefront now. Shinzaki Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Bultman responded that there's progress with Mazur to get him signed to an ELC. Start him in GR or Detroit? Quote
Shinzaki Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Mazur has been signed to a contract beginning in 23/24. He will report to the Griffs on a pro tryout Quote
buddha Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 mazur and wallinder in GR next year. kasper too? i figure bedard will make the team out of camp... Quote
sagnam Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 If the Wings were Bedard lucky then all the past luck BS would be worth it. Unfortunately the NHL lottery is rigged when they care. Quote

My assumption is that Kasper signs and comes over in the offseason to get ready to start in GR, he just returned home to focus on graduating high school which is kind of a wild thing to type out. They called up Hirose on an emergency basis today so I guess there's a chance there could be a slot open for Marco if they're interested, I would imagine Grand Rapids is more likely but I have been pretty off on all my predictions lately 😂 I think Chiasson and Zadina are injured at some level but I have no clue how long term those are. slothfacekilla Posted March 29, 2023 Author Posted March 29, 2023 Wearing....54 which is oddly Wallinder's SHL number lol Quote
slothfacekilla Posted March 29, 2023 Author Posted March 29, 2023 (edited) I ended up paying $20 to be able to watch the rest of the Griffins games this season through AHL TV, should be interesting. Mazur is one of the better Griffins so far I would say, skates well with the puck and has tried some creative passes. They have him on both special teams already, he drew a penalty on a GR penalty kill to even it up at 4 on 4. So far so good. Edited March 29, 2023 by slothfacekilla 1 Quote
