1984Echoes Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 The flipside to that was that he also tended to maintain control of the puck versus getting knocked off the puck/ or was able to find holes to skate through... we'll see how that fares in the NHL when he gets his chance up there... most likely next year though, not this year. slothfacekilla Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 I am really liking what I'm seeing from Mazur so far, he seems to have good instincts for where to be and skates hard to get to good defensive positions all over the ice. He seems a little more open to passing this second game too haha 2 Quote
buddha Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 we used to complain every year about the pistons winning meaningless games at the end of the year and costing themselves draft position. come on wings, dont be like the pistons. no one should emulate the pistons. Quote

They know what they’re talking about. I think that was a big part of me developing throughout the year. It also sounds like Draper watches him in person a lot. Another year of development will do wonders for kids at this age especially when they're 19 in the OHL, but jumping from 59 points in 67 games last season to 102 points in 67 games this season is pretty impressive. I'm really excited to see where he goes from here. Quote

buddha Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 raises the question again of whether last off season was the time to spend on glue guy free agents. Quote
1984Echoes Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Wings busting out quickly tonight with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes leading 2-0 over the Canadiens... Apparently they do not know who Connor Bedard is nor do they care... Quote
slothfacekilla Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 It may have been because I had had a few drinks while playing DND before watching this, but I thought this was really well put together Quote

1984Echoes Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Good, bones heal. Hopefully there are no after-effects to that... Quote
buddha Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 hopefully it heals and its not a problem next year and moving forward. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted April 7, 2023 Author Posted April 7, 2023 Mazur was the first star, had an empty net goal and 2 assists in addition to that goal I believe 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 I'm starting to see what Yzerman and co saw in Cossa, he is looking more composed using his athleticism and size. Those highlights were against the top team in Toledo's division (Walleye are in second), 33 saves in the 4-1 win. 1 1 Quote
Shinzaki Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 As Cossa grows into his frame...if he retains his athleticism and keeps his mechanics tight...he's going to be a very good NHL goalie Quote
lordstanley Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 A cheer for my (former) hometown Sarnia Sting who advanced to the 2nd round of the OHL playoffs with a Game 6 OT win yesterday. All five of the players on one of the goals have been drafted, albeit none by the Wings. Del Mastro 4th round 2021 by Chicago. Kyrou 2nd round 2022 by Dallas. Pastujov 3rd round 2021 by Anaheim. Del Bel Belluz 2nd round 2022 by Columbus. Voit 5th round 2021 by Toronto. Quote
